Deadliest Catch...Normally I'm not a fan of reality driven shows, but this one is different and pretty amazing. Who else is a fan of the show, and what/who is your favorite boat/captain? Mine is Captain Phil Harris & the Cornelia Marie. Some clips from the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRO6H8puHF8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_8hOai9hGQ
Love that show. The guys on the Northwestern are hilarious, Sig is the man. I thought this show was coming to an end though because they changed the regulations on the quotas so every ship had an equal amount that they could catch?
Yeah they set quotas but from what I remeber it was different for each ship, since some are much larger then others. Could be wrong though as well.
Yeah I gotta go with Sig and the Northwestern as my fav boat, but they are all pretty good imo, great show and have been watching since the first season. Some of the crap they have to work through is just insane!
Damn did anyone see the last few episodes? Phil had some kind of a blood clot that went from his leg, through his heart and landed in his lung. Now hes on their talking about how the docs are saying he might only have 2 weeks - 2 months to live. Crazy.
I saw that and keep watching to see if they have any up dates on his health. I bet they don't tell us any more on his health until next season.
If you watch the show following Deadliest Catch they tell you about it. I dont watch it personally because it ruins the show somewhat.
I've been watching every night ti seems like. can''t believe what is going on with that guy's health. The Northwestern is my favorite ship though. Anyone see the special on ophelia (sp?) crab catching in the winter? Guy fell overboard for over a minute and survived, incredible.
My wife is a huge fan of the show, about a month ago she stops to pick up a book for book club and who is signing books in the store, The Hillstrand brothers. She was thrilled.
That show is awesome... My favorites are a toss up between Keith and the Wizard or the northwestern and Sig.. I think Keith gets it by a nose cause he is always winning the race for the most crab
yeah, he was only in the water for about 30 seconds, which is really all it takes... They got him back though
I a guy that worked on a crab boat back in 85. He spent three months on the boat. When he came back he paid cash for a brand new car, paid off his student loan and took the rest of the year off. He said it was tough work and he would never go back.
Wow....Sig's crew took home 78 grand a piece. I still dont think I could do it though. I mean if you told me that I would work 30 hrs straight take a 4 hr break do it again in the Bering Sea rinse repeat......I'd say where's the local McDonalds again and are they hiring?
No...it was a special show. From the camera men's P.O.V.. It said on the TV Guide that it was from 2007 but it was new. They had a segment on there on how the producer on the Cornelia Marie actually played a huge part in getting Phil to finally call for help, etc.
I think he did, but they definately have the solo tough guy-leader thing going there. He didnt want to let his crew down, or even worse put them in danger. At least they finally got him to see the light and put his *** in a hospital. They had one of those cameramen shows last year too, was pretty cool. They show the "chase boat" that gives all the off ship vantage shots, the guy that goes along on Coastie choppers, all the crap the camera crew does to get ready, the things they do to get shots etc, was cool. I actually enjoy the "after the catch" usually though
