I haven't watched it all the way through yet, and so far he's found a bunch of clever ways to say nothing at all, but here's his presser nonetheless.

He did drop "hot spots" all analytically early on. :shifty: Most of the early questions are about drafting an offensive lineman, trading up/down, how he evaluates linemen.
Said regarding analytics that they've used it on a "small level" in the past, but are "looking to expand" it in the future. I like that.

I believe Omar asked him about whether or not he'd like to have a higher pick or more total picks in this year's Draft. Hickey said, "I'd always like to have more picks." I wonder how telling that really is.
-
I have yet to hear someone say they would like to have less picks .Just saying...

CrunchTime likes this.

This is the quote he made which suggests we may be interested in a tradedown.

It would be great if someone just came out and said "I'm taking a punter with the first pick." Then goes out and does it.
It would be a nice change from saying nothing for 45 minutes.Rocky Raccoon, LiferYank and Samphin like this. -

He didn't mean US, per say. He just meant that it would be great for a GM to actually give a tangible piece of information rather than the GM sound bytes that they spew out like robots this time of year.

Best part of that interview is him acknowledging the local talent and how we have the advantage, and how he likes the idea of keeping local talent home..
Good for him, I Think it's important as well, and I believe in the reasons why that are relevant to do so. -

Its not his job to spill the beans because of impatient fans who would then rip him a new one for.. spilling the beans of course. -

He's also a drug dealer IIRC, so he does play two positions.
