I think he was speaking more about his level of maturity, rather than "Go get married and you'll be a better receiver".

Where was Terry holding him back?

Terry simply commented on Derek's lack of focus on football. That's always been an issue with Derek Hagan. When he was at Arizona State, there were times that he looked like Terrell Owens on the field. Derek has an incredible ability to get open. He's probably the best receiver on the team at getting himself open, whether it is against loose or tight coverage. He knows how to use his body to make himself open.

However, Derek doesn't always focus on the little things. That's all I think Terry was trying to get at there.

The thing about that is, Tuna has made it quite clear what he wants from his players, they should "Love playing football" oil and water do not mix #1 Dolphinsfan...the next step in that process should be apparent...

IMO Hagan has NO chance to be the No1 WR. I actually think Ginn has more chance of being No1 than Hagan and Ginn is nowhere near that right now.

I'm very excited to see what Hagan can do with different coaches on him, yelling at him to get his crap together. With his physical talents, he should outperform Marty Booker.

It's a bit more then just practice though #1 df, Cm said the same things about Derek Hagan, now his Wr coach (ex coach) is saying them as well, things like catching 500 footballs a day like Tory Holt does, or Jerry Rice running with a parachute tied behind him, it's that extra bit of effort that separates "potential" and "performance".

I've read the Hagan needs this or that for 2 yrs now, there comes a point where he delivers or is let go, this could be his last yr to do one of the two.

BTW, Derek Hagan is another Lil Nicky guy who has problems concentrating on playing football and putting in the extra work, add Channing Crowder and Jason Allen (maybe Allen) to that list of underachieving Lil Nicky draftees.

Yep which, after Chambers left sums up our depth and overall quality at WR. Ginn is one for the future. He has better hands than Hagan and the speed is a no-brainer. I hear Ginn is going to put on a few lbs in off season. If he can shed a few man to man markers then Ginn will do very well for us. Hagan has never impressed me.

Derek hagan has football anxiety, when the ball is in the air for to long he can't get his hands in proper position to make the play, he's a very bad downfield receiver at this moment.

Hagan was a stud at ASU, he made catches that left your mouth dropping.

He is going thru some growing pains, but they say it takes WR's sometimes three years to get it at this level. I think we will see a much better Hagan this year (If we get someone that can throw him the ball)

Thats half the battle right there NJ but Ginn will get better as well if we can a decent QB. Ginn right now is better.

Hagan has been a major disappointment, much like every one of Saban's draft picks save Ronnie, and he's yet to prove he can last a full year.

Say whatever you want about Cameron and Mueller, but their first draft has been better than any of Saban's.

neither player was worthy of starting in the NFL last year, hopefully they both step it up.
