I think he's really under the radar. At 250 lbs., to be able to run a 4.52 forty and a 37 inch vertical with a 10'10" broad jump. I don't watch college until the draft but the only way I see him making it out of the first round is with an Alabama back stigma.
Like my man Louis Tee on youtube said, he's 10 lbs. away from being O'henry, but man! He could help our team out tremendously. From what I've heard so far he sounds like just what the doctor ordered from a 3rd and short, screen game and pass protection standpoint.
He definitely would be deadly as a play action threat. If we fix our interior line situation, I would take this kid in a heartbeat. Elliot is the consensus number one back, but this guy adds a rare dimension. Tough call at number 8. We should drop down and take this stud anywhere from pick 13 on...Forget Ragland, Lawson, Dodd, etc. I would drop down, add a second rounder and go:
1- Derrick Henry
2- Vadaal Alexander
2b- Karl Joseph

What is the stigma? Hershall Walker and terrell davis are were good backs from GA -
Bama backs haven't been panning out well in the NFL, but I love Henry. He's been a star since high school. Game isn't too big for him. And his outrageous size, measurables, and skills are like a Bo Jackson.
i think he would help Gase and RT17 immeasurably. A monster RB who would make defenses quake in the second half of games. A guy you'd have to gameplay around, with weapons like Juice, DVP, and co. I think our offense would be special. So long as we finally nailed a G in the draft. -
If we end up with Anderson, I can't see us spending a pick in the first two rounds on a RB, no matter the value.

As to Henry, I don't see him having a long career in the league with his size and style. If I'm going to draft someone high, then I at least want the hope that he'll be around 8-10 years.texanphinatic likes this. -

13 is a bit high IMO, but if we traded down or he's available in the 2nd round then he's a guy we should seriously consider. I do think he's going to be a good back.
