Sad news. I wish him the best in his recovery! He is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma. Good news is its in remission as of now! Stay strong Michael!

I read an article about it where it said the cancer was highly treatable so good for him...cancer is a very scary thing.
Sounds like he'll be fine for the long haul which is always good to hear.
Edit: Here is the article...weird seeing him like he is in the article but once again he says he should be fine...if I'm right I think non-Hodgkins lymphoma is the more serious kind:

He didnt look great at the Golden Globes. But sounds like he should be ok, which is good to hear.

Man I was wondering when he did the interviews at the end of the season he had what looked like an extremely short hair cut.. Damn I wish him the best.
