"I'm not the type of person that will try to confront somebody but now I feel like it's gone too far. It's gone too far," Bryant said to the Associated Press. "I haven't did anything wrong to nobody."
"Whoever passes up on me, it's over with. I feel like I'm going through the same situation Randy Moss did," he added. "That man had issues and teams were passing up on him, and when he got on that field, he killed them. He murdered them. Look at him today: One of the best players in the NFL."
"What do this got to do with me playing football? Even if I did forget my cleats, what do that have to do with me playing football? I don't think it has anything to do with me playing football."

He certainly doesn't seem like the brightest crayon in the box, but if he's there at pick #12, I have a very, very, very, difficult time passing on him and picking someone else; unless that someone else is Eric Berry (which isn't likely).

Look at some of the best receivers in the league right now..
Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Sidney Rice, Reggie Wayne, Steve Smith (NYG) etc...
These guys didn't have 40 times that made Mike Mayock's eyes fall out of his head either, but they are all incredible at playing the position of NFL wide receiver..
Look at the "fastest" receivers in the league...this list has several disappointing players...
Ginn, Heyward-Bey, Devin Thomas, DeSean Jackson..
DeSean Jackson is the only guy that is a pure "speed" guy I'd want on my team.
Granted...I picked names that would help my argument, but you see where I'm going with this :wink2:gunn34 and dolfan7171 like this. -
DeSean Jackson has definitely not been a disappointment

it would be a huge mistake to pass on him i really dont want to listen to fans if we dont draft him B**** and mone about how we passed on dez

He falls to someone in he AFCE and we'll be eating more than crowLarry Little, dolfan7171 and Disnardo like this. -
Johnson: 4.43 (nice speed...but not OMG he'll run by EVERYONE)
Wayne: 4.48
Steve Smith: 4.44
So yes, these are all nice time, but not make you drop everything and take notice times like Bey, Ginn, etc...
My point is, there's a lot more to a WR than just a 40 time, and you can have marginal speed and still be pretty dominant...ask Jerry Rice, or Chris Carter, or Steve Largent, or Art Monk... -
Practice,we talkin' about practice,Not a real game,practice.
Ahhhh, screw him anyway.Don't want im'.
Bring me a LB.....:up:dolfan7171 and Irish Phin Fan like this. -
I agree that there's more to a wide receiver than a 40 time, I was merely pointing out the players and their times.dolfan7171 and DePhinistr8 like this. -

If they think he's good enough draft him, I don't personally have a problem with it. But I always respect people a little less when they can't make the effort to speak English at higher than a kindergarten level in an interview that will be be printed all over.
I grew up in the country, I've definitely used my fair share of slang in my life, but I hate it when athletes speak like they dropped out of 2nd grade in an interview. Joey Porter did the same crap all the time. I just don't understand how grown men who went to college would talk that way in an interview.gunn34, Califin, dolfan7171 and 5 others like this. -
The problem I have is Mayock said " he looked like he was giving up on a lot of drills" I am starting to have second thoughts on this guy. It is so important to this team to be right on this #12 pick. We can't afford to blow this pick.

I actually have second thoughts on Mike Mayock......the guy looked ready to do a happy dance when we selected Pat White. Who appeared to be one of his favorite players in the draft. -
Hmmm. Not a single hint of being childish, or a diva, or even uneducated there, now is there. Sounds like a young man who has his head exactly squared away and his attitude just right for someone who is about to be given millions of dollars to play a game after improving himself and learning about life at one of the great institutes of higher education a whole lot of people would give a lot of money to attend - if they had it. Fine, upstanding young man.dolfan7171, DolfanJake, miamiron and 1 other person like this. -

He's so dumb that he can't even realize that by saying this he is infact hurting himself more and creating a situation where more teams may actually pass on him. Hey at this rate he'll still be available in the second round.

I'm around his age and i care deeply about using correct grammar and how i sound when i talk. Just for the mere fact that it gives me an advantage over all of the incompetent people that will be my 'competition' in finding a future job.:yes:gunn34, DolfanJake, jetssuck and 1 other person like this. -

If we pass on him I can't wait to hear what you guys have to say after he torches us in the first meet.
But if anyone is questioning his character based on what's said in THAT article... what a shame. Parcells/Ireland/Sparano has you guys hypnotized.dolfan7171 likes this. -
I tend to agree that statement isn't a big enough sample to completely judge him as a person. I think a lot of people appreciate a little more humility in a man though. If you want to declare yourself the next Randy Moss you better back it up or shut your mouth. -
When I played football, I couldn't imagin being at an away game trying to explain to my coach and teammates that I forgot my cleats. I would still be running laps, doing up n downs and bear crawls. Next year I would be doing wind sprints and 6 inch leglifts.
-
thats it dez if you scream loud enough that will make you a star in this league.
comparing himself to randy moss before the draft LOL
this guy has a lot to learn and already he is talking smack. imagine after he is in the league
wow he is going to have a target on his back every week.
why in the hell would we go anywhere near this guy?finyank13 likes this. -
