With the 10th anniversary of the attacks in just a few days, I'm wondering if anyone was directly affected? I've heard stories from people who knew someone involved in the attack or something very interesting like that.
I had distant family members I never met killed in the attacks. It definitely altered my opinions of religious sects and groups. It definitely made me more aware of what people in that part of the world think of our country and our freedoms.
A friend of mine father was a firefighter who did not make it out on 9/11 and my neighbor brother died in the attacks. No one close to me was killed that day, but I did know a few people in the buildings. It being the 10 year does nothing for me, I remember 9/11 every year no matter what year it is.
Yes, I got sent overseas and had the pleasure of shooting at bad guys.....alot.... I thank God everyday for that.....
No it did not. I was 10 years old thousands of miles away. I did not understand the magnitude of what happened, just knew it was very sad and that a lot of innocent people had died. I do remember what I was doing that day, which is amazing.
And we are happy you made back in one piece finyank. I was away at school when it happened and my roommate used to fall asleep with the tv on and I remember waking up to it and I thought he was watching some cartoon or some crazy stuff. Then I realized it was real and I was like WTF?! I do have one good memory of 9/11...Mike piazza...best home run ever http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=2968149
