I havent heard anything about this.. By my count, they should have 13 turnovers for the entire season, thus beating the Giants' record of 14.. Is this correct?
Correct...yes, they did!!!!! Only 1 turnover today (Pennington fumble) Official NFL stat for the bad snap on 4th down Punt was Turnover on Downs!
http://forums.thephins.com/club-level/23638-2008-dolphins-record-setting-performances.html 1990 Giants had 14 in 16 games.....we had 13. Its the new NFL record!
No. I meant I was told that the 2008 Giants also only had 13 turnovers. But I don't know if it's true.
Just not 100% sure on that....you would have thougth the natl media would have been all over that stat....I dont know about the Fumbles Lost for entire team as only 3 for Giants.
The media wouldn't be all over it because the Giants weren't 1-15 last year. The site listed above and nfl.com show 10 picks and 3 lost fumbles
As I posted, the Giants own site lists 13 Fumbles......I think they are all lost..not just fumbles http://www.giants.com/team/giants_stats.html And you can click on other teams...look at Dolphins page. Ginn shows zero Fumbles, and we know he has fumbled, just not turnover - either rolled out of bounds or we recovered them. Hey, I am not gospel here, just trying to help out, but I think the 3 fumbles listed on the NFL page dont account for every type of Fumble ST, etc. So this is my opinion that I think the 2008 Giants have more than 13 Turnovers as a Team.
No man, check the bottom of that page, there's the fumble breakdown by player, they only lost 3. So it's a shared record now, good enough for me.
Agghhhh, then I stand corrected. Ok, thanks. Sorry, was only trying to help. Weird. So, we tied at 13 then it seems.
Yeah we tied, but we won the division and the Giants didn't, but they did win an unbelievable Super Bowl.... d-1
Didn't a team only have twelve? I know it was a 14 game season, but that didn't stop Maris breaking Ruth's record etc.
I think a strike season shortened Jerry Rice's record breaking season as well. I wish it wouldn't have, so Randy Moss wouldn't hold the damn record. Not impressive when put up against Rice's.
