The Argentinian World Cup star has died at the age of 60 from a heart attack. Arguably (definitely up there with Pele, Messi, Ronaldo) the greatest player to have played the game, he had problems with drug addiction which most likely would have contributed to his relatively early death. He was most famous for helping Argentina win the 1986 World Cup, and scoring a controversial (to say the least) goal which he later called "the hand of God" against England in the quarter finals, before going on to score a second, which was one of the greatest goals ever seen, to knock England out. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54810392
I don't watch soccer at all, ever, and I knew who he was. Probably one of maybe five players I could name if asked. Sorry to hear that his life seems to have gone downhill after his career was over, but that happens with a lot of sports.
Shows how famous he was as well that the Argentinian President has declared 3 days of national mourning for his death, he was thought of as a god in that country.
