Is it just me, or did that guy purposly step right on Ricky's shoulder, and put force behind it. I thought thats what happened right after the play, but after seeing it on Sportscenter, I am convinced. He took a beeline sprinting right to Ricky, planted on his shoulder, and then went after the ball.
If he absolutely "had" to step there, there is no reason to put force behind it like he did.
I don't think I'm crazy. My Bills-fan roommate even called it a dirty play.

Honestly, if he did it on purpose, then good.
I don't respect Ricky Williams, so I won't defend him unless it's life or death. -

In the heat of the game..it would be almost impossible to prove...but that is definately what put Ricky out of the game. That really sucked.
-
It took the announcers 10 minutes to figure out that's what knocked him out of the game. They kept running their mouth about "Oh he's been out of the league, we saw this coming, blah blah blah". They made as much sense as Madden does.
-
It looked dirty at the time, and it looked totally obvious during the SC highlights.
Byroan, those guys have to chat like women at a tupperware party less, and talk football more. -
It looked questionable at least, and for those who are happy that it happened, guys get real. He may have had his ups and downs as a Dolphin and as a football player, but to celebrate and injury on anyone is classless and disturbing. Whatever you might think about Ricky, or any player for that matter, you never should celebrate an injury... at least I would hope no Dolphins' fans would. The guy is a Miami Dolphin, wether we like it (or him) or not. Cheering an injury is something I could see a Jets or Philly fan doing, but coming from our "fans" is seriously alarming. :cursing:
Well I'll step off my soapbox now. :detective: -
That foot in my mind was planted in his back on purpose. Hope it isn't serious. We could use Ricky down the line. If he can show he can still play we might be able to get a pick for him. Or keep him as a number 2 back next year.

Oh how I miss VIP

You might not call that "celebrating", but it seems pretty clear to me that you were happy that someone purposely hurt a Miami Dolphins player... was that not your intention?!? :confused1: -
-
Don't ever again put words into my mouth, son. Ask first. Don't make yourself look dumb. -
-
reread your crappy post. I second and third the notion that VIP can not come back sooner. -
I guess I'm the rare one that didn't think it was on purpose at all, the guy saw the ball and changed direction to go after the ball. Its football, it happens.
I have a hard time thinking that while the ball is floating around on the field, that a guy would think, the heck with the ball, I'm stepping on Ricky, its absurd. -
Seems to me somebody thought it was 'good' that a Fin player got hurt. Maybe not such a 'good' fan!
-
In slow motion, he did it on purpose. But the game isn't played in slow motion.
With the speed at which the game is played, I don't think Timmons meant to injure him, but I don't think he made any attempt to avoid stepping on Ricky's shoulder either. -
So would the league look at this film like they do so many and impose a fine if they deem it to be intentional? Beck is holding on to the ball too long.
-
LOL but that entire game WAS played in slow-motion MUCK...due to the field of course.
I think it WAS on purpose. SHould it have gotten a flag- probably not. THis happens in football ALL THE TIME its football folks>.. -
Oh yeah, and yes, Sorry KING but it did sound like you were dancing on Ricky's grave bro....
-
You might not have been celebrating dirty play, but these words were condoning it. -
It wouldn't have happened if Ricky was not in uniform, which he wasn't suppose to be but our franchise is so pathetically desperate.
Field conditions were horrible, players were slipping, sliding, and falling harder than on regular weather. -
Maybe this holier than though attitude the VIP'ers have is the reason someone attacked FinHeaven and knocked it on it's a-- for over a month
Either debate the person or ignore it -
-
No one can say for sure that it was an intentional move. Ricky fumbled and Timmons was clearly trying to get to the ball at all costs. However, I'm sure if the Commish deems it intentional he will issue a fine. BTW, I have to admit, I've been one of the people who just wish the organization would cut ties with Ricky after what he has put the team through, however seeing him back in uniform then give that little shimmy turn to get the first down on his very first touch of the game gave me a little chill. I just wish he could have played the entire game.
-
At this point, my expectation is that Ricky is traded for a draft pick...I hope he is healthy and can play the rest of the season to showcase to some other franchise to roll-the-dice on him.
But somehow my gut tells me that it will get screwed up too - and this Organization will get shafted again by RW. -
-
No doubt anything can happen....and where is Lo. Booker? We used a 3rd on him and he has to be activated for this Jets game doesnt he?
-
Ricky, unfortunately will probably be around until the trade-deadline next year...Then and only then, a team that is close to being a contender that needs a nice backup will take him on for a draft pick.
At this point, I dont think anybody would deal us a draft pick for him -
I think the reason Booker does not play is because he stinks. I think he is gone next year also.
-
P.S. yeah, Lo. Booker was 4th overall player drafted but 3rd rounder.
