it opened friday. i love the George C Scott version and the Dickens book as well. plus i am a Disney and Christmas fanatic, and have three young children. so i am pretty much going to see it at some point between now and Christmas, unless it is knock down awful. anybody catch it this weekend?
I'll definitely check this out in IMAX 3D, but the greatest ever telling of that story was Albert Finney in "Scrooge".
hard to argue against the Finney version. i just have alot of sentimentality for the George C Scott version, because one of my favorite teacher introduced me to both the book and that version way back in the 80's...

Went and saw this yeaterday with the kiddos. Slightly annoyed because the IMAX version was not available due to a problem with the projector. But did get to see it in 3-D in our brand new (less than one month old) theatre locally. Good stuff. Disney scores again, the animation and 34-D aspects are really good. Found myself flinching a few times. And the way they managed to incorporate Ebenezer into these giant, sweeping, magnificent panaramas of London was pretty impressive too. Even though it is a bit more advanced, i still would not put in up there with The Polar Express, but that is probably only because I knew the story so well and was not surprised where it was going at any point. Definitely a must see in the theatre.
