Finnegan, who has missed the Dolphins' last three games with a left ankle injury, said he has made progress this week after practicing Wednesday and Thursday.
"I just have to keep waiting," Finnegan said he if unable to play. "You hate it, but you don't want to hurt your football team. It's one of those things you've got to give it time to heal."
Despite resting during Friday's walk-through, Finnegan said his ankle has felt better this week. Finnegan said he will test his ankle Sunday morning before the game and that he will play if his ankle feels strong.
"I've been doing everything I can, and hopefully we'll see how it responds," he said. "You always hope to play, but you don't ever want to hurt your team by going out there and not being a 100 percent."
