I voted yes. We are number #1 in 3rd quarter points and #1 in 2nd half points. What more can you ask for from a Head Coach?

I like much of what this staff is doing, but that doesn't make Philbin's worse attribute better...he cannot seem to get this team up week in and week out.... This week, they were up...but what about the next big game ?? Say, NE...will the team roll over and die, like they've done at inopportune times?? We'll have to wait and see, but all in all, i'm disappointed in his ability to get this team mentally up for big games on a consistent basis...

Look, we are having trouble finishing drives. In blowouts, meaning when we win by double digits, the O has a chance to put up 40+ points but scores 20+. When we faced tougher fronts that was accentuated. We still had a chance to score 30+ but scored 10+. We are driving but not finishing in red zone. The reason is, we have a young group, QB who is still developing, moving pieces on Oline, new OC.
We are up for every game and we are up to the task at the end of games, but futility in the redzone over the course of quarters catches up with us.
The most important thing is, the product on the field is great, it's fun to watch. The record does not matter because they are not ready to win the SB, they are still smothing out things. There is no point in screaming for playoffs or 10-6 record this year. We found the HC and the system that is good to have us compete for SB for the next decade, and that is the most important thing.

I voted yes. We are in the playoff hunt and have a good chance of getting to 10-11 wins. I think he's done a great job of moving this team from last years off field issues to where we are now. He also was partly responsible for lighting the fire under RTH's and RTH has responded. Coaching is a lot easier when your QB is playing at a high level and making plays.

I finally voted yes. Philbin seemed to let his assistants do their jobs, and didn't get "queasy" on us despite the offense not looking hot in the first half. The team looked motivated, which I thought would be needed if we were going to overcome the top sack team against our shuffled OL. I didn't think it'd happen, but they proved me wrong.

If they can keep from going out and laying a turd against a team we should beat, unlike last year, I think I'm slowly moving towards the keep Philbin camp. Not necessarily because of anything he brings to the table, but because I can tolerate him as a CEO-esque head coach if he can keep his hands off the game plans and let our above average coordinators do their jobs and the team doesn't come out flat and emotionless against lesser teams.

I want a "sort of" option. I like a lot of what he's doing, but I can't stand how slow we start, and the team looking flat. If that changes between now and the end of the season, I'll be very happy with the job he's doing. So, I can't vote no this time, but I can't really vote yes.

I agree. It seems like we come out and watch what the other team does for a while so we can adjust instead of just attacking from go. I still feel that the coaching is leaps and bounds from last year. As much as I hate to say it, Ireland has left us with some good players that have developed. Hickey has done pretty well in the draft and free agency besides the flyer he took on a WR late in the draft that we could have used better and not bringing in depth a tackle although he could still prove me wrong on that one.

I can really find any gaping holes on this team and the coaching has been pretty good. I really have to say that I can not remember the last time this team had this much quality depth. Guys keep going down and the team keeps responding. We are just beginning to see some consistent play at QB. If that can continue, I think we will enjoy the rest of the season.

I firmly believe talent is overcoming coaching. We know for certain that Philbin's coordinators are doing the heavy lifting. Philbin is an offensive coach and Lazor doesn't use what Philbin is used to. At this point I still don't think he brings anything to the table but he does remove some stuff with some conservative decisions, bad clock management, and bad timeout management.

Did you watch season 2 of Silicon Valley? Part of me imagines Philbin as one of the rooftop Hooli employees.

while I voted yes, I do believe your opinion has some valid points..except you should of said we haven't been able to overcome some conservatism and some boneheaded decisions that imo cost us two games.

I am certainly happy with the Dolphins record after their first 10 games. Yet I stated before the year that I wanted to see how the entire season plays out before making my own judgement on Philbin as an NFL head coach.

Last year after 14 games, many people thought Philbin had done an excellent job considering, "Bullygate" and the fact it was only Tannehill's second year as a starter in the NFL. The last two games of last season changed a lot of people's view in regards to Philbin in a negative way.

To me it has ALWAYS been about the Dolphins reaching 10 wins or making the playoffs this year. Right now it appears the Dolphins can reach 10 wins and hopefully that would earn them a spot in the playoffs. If they can get to that number of wins, I believe Philbin will have proved he deserves to remain the Dolphins head coach beyond this season. Anything less than a playoff berth or at least 10 wins and it wouldn't surprise me if Ross doesn't make a strong run at trying once again to bring Jim Harbaugh to the Dolphins in 2015.
