Not that I really want him, but there is a Parcells connection there.. Might be a decent backup.

Tampa resigned him to a decent deal before last year. Rumor was he wasn't going to be released because Atlanta was going to gobble him up and they didn't want him going to a division rival. Anyways, there would have to be some drastic changes before he's cut, they may choose to shop him though. In that case, no I wouldn't trade for him. if he was released, then yes give him a go.

I remember two things about Chris Sims coming out of Texas;
1. Chris's game was better suited for the pro game.
2. Chris was under-coached in college (Jon Gruden comments). -

Simms is solid when he's at 100% but no thanks, here's a little refresher for those not familiar with him.
03-rookie year, never plays
04-shoulder injury missed 3 weeks
05-knee injury early in the season (thanks to Zach :lol:)-out for season
06-ruptured spleen week 3 out for season
07-placed on IR early in the season-out for season
we need someone who is gonna make it through the season. We can't afford to waste more cap money on somebody who doesn't deliever the goods we've been down that road enough times over the past decade. -

Id like to have Simms as a backup/spot starter in case Beck can't start or gets hurt. I don't think he's a future star buts he's solid competition for Beck in training camp. If Lemon isn't resigned and the inevitable retirement/cutting of Green happens we need a backup/competition and a 3rd Qb not to mention camp bodies.
