Parcells was said to like the play of Chatman, plus we got Lobo. My question is do you think we might trade Ronnie Brown down the road to accumulate more first day picks in order to draft more quality linemen or other defensive players to turn the team around quicker? Since the trenches and defense are usually the foundation to a good team. Basically a scenario similar to how the Bills traded Mcgahee to the Ravens. Plus we could always draft another Rb later down the road like they did once we got our lines and defense dialed in.Plus Ithink Ronnie's contract is up in the next couple of years and he will most likely be in a postion for big money.Iwould like to also add I like Brown and I'm not questioning his ability to play the game, leading the league in rushing before the injury, however I do feel there is a blueprint for reconstructing a team and Parcells also mentioned starting from the inside and working out similar to what Cam said..Do you think it could happen ? Would you be opposed to it?

No. He's a BP sort of guy, runs hard between tackles, can break off a med-long run, catches well, and takes care of the rock. I don't see it happening, mainly because of the injury lowering his value.
-
no.
Ronnie Brown is far and away our best offensive player, and probably close to the best on the team. He's still young and early signs point to him having a fabulous recovery from the surgery. -
no way in hell. Chatman + Lobooker = Half of what ronnie provides.
They did ok filling in but Ronnies a bruiser, an absolute bruiser. We need Ronnie more then ever. -
no, you build around him. Also.... do you really want to rely on Ricky as our #1 again?

Nothing would surprise me, but I don't see it happening. The only concern Bill would have with Brown is durability. And that same concern that Bill may have may also be a detterent for a trade. Brown is exactly the type of back Parcells covets. So I can't imagine a scenario where Ronnie Brown could be traded. Unless someone makes an offer he couldn't refuse. But running backs are not as hard to come by as they used to be, so someone giving up a high pick for him is very unlikely.

so is chatman :glare::huh1: -
I don't think some fans realize how good Ronnie was, and hopefully, will be. He was the WHOLE package, please somebody name me another NFL back that is so good at EVERYTHING!
He was a real bruiser, ran GREAT between the tackles, was a real outside threat also with his speed, was one of, if not the best, short yardage back in the league- look at his short yardage conversion stats. He was a terrific at catching the ball out of the backfield, he could play fullback, finished of runs like a beast, and took pride in his pass blocking.
Please- somebody, before you go of and say he was okay, give me one back that was as good as him in all areas- just one.
I felt physically ill when he was hurt-I only hope and pray he will come back strong, and maybe this year we will have a coach that will be smart enough to not have him returning kicks.late again likes this. -
There's a difference between a guy capable of leading one of the league's most talented positions statistically, and a guy who is at best an above average backup. -
NO...we don't trade RB....not at this time. I just hope he recovers fully from his ACL...the good thing is we have a few extra clubs in the bag (Ricky, LoBo, and Chatman) in case Ronnie needs a while to recover. I think we are set at the running back spot for now.

i've got no problem with jesse snackman as a backup, and i love what lo book brings to the table, but in ronnie you have a potential top 5 player at his position (when healthy). i believe in the NFL everyone is in play for the right offer, but what would the offer need to be to even consider dealing ronnie (and no, the presence of jchat or lobook would have zero to do with the equation)?

Hell No! Ronnie Brown is a complete back! he can pass block/ he can catch/ He can pound the rock and get like 5 yards a carry. He also made our oline look just as good as they made him look. Ricky Williams/Lorenzo Booker/ Samkon Gado is the perfect complement to Ronnie Brown. No way in hell we should overpaid for Jesse Chatman.

Could it? Sure. If Parcells and Ireland get an offer they would be moronic to refuse, they'd trade Ronnie. However, I don't see one of those deals coming down the pike anytime soon.
-
Oh Crap! Why don't we just trade everyone off the team for draft picks. Then we could field a complete college team in 08. Great idea.
Ronne Brown was our #2 pick and so far has proven to warrant that pick. You build around him, not without him.sgtphin likes this. -

As a 1-15 team, we shouldn't trade away our best offensive player. But it's up to the parcells.
-
Not sure I could handle losing Ronnie Brown.

There should be no thought of trading Ronnie in the mind of Tuna or else we have a bad VP in the office. He was the best runningback in the league this year before his injury. Chatmann doesnt make the plays that Ronnie can. Lobook looked good, but not Ronnie good.
-
think he works best in a 2 back set becasue injury bug issue. Like everone else points out though its tough to have so much money tied up in one position. Maybe trade Brown to the Cowboys and pick up aneeded OT. -
NO booker and Chatman are not half of what Ronnie Brown is Brown is the best player we have to build the team around him
-
Brown's #s last year for anyone interested

About as much of a chance as Bellychick trading Brady.

2. The Cowboys have absolutely no need for another RB, Barber is a top RB in this league
3. Ronnie is a proven back, while McFadden is an unproven back. Sure he has alot of hype (mostly from fans and ESPN) but so did Reggie Bush. How did that turn out for the Saints?Phinperor likes this. -

b) Brown excelled this year, IN A ONE-BACK SET
c) Why would the Cowboys trade for Brown? They already have a Pro Bowl running back and another starting-caliber guy as well? -

i dont see this happening. first off ronnie has a big contract now as it is. i dont see us trading him off for a few first round picks or anything of that nature. i think ronnie and booker are the future at tailback for this team. with ricky either as an option, or trade bait. OR... if we can switch booker into a welker type role, then split carries with ronnie and ricky again... look out. however, fromw hat we saw of booker at the end of the season, booker may be well served as an HB... nevermind receiver.. its going to be interesting thats for sure.

we still have people saying we should trade ronnie brown? wow you must be out of your mind. he was most of our offense and without him we could not move the ball at all
