Yes. After all the debate and hooplah, I say at the very least it can't hurt us that much if we were to bring him in, and we stand to potentially gain a lot. I don't see Moss as having the ability to fracture our locker room like he may have done in Minny. Our coaching staff is strong and won't take any BS.
hell yea!!! its not like were gonna make him franchise player! just throw him in and maybe our offense can finally get some good stuff going with this great pass protection the O line has been providing Henne with
Absolutely, this team has a strong HC and staff & GM, and a strong locker room culture, all things that Randy thrived under in NE. If he acts up, Sparano can handle him. He'll make him an offer Moss can't refuse . . .
Is he that much better than Marshall, Bess and Hartline? What would be the point of trying to break in ANY new WR week 9? Now it would be sweet to pull a Evilcheck and use one of his against him like he's done to us. As an individual talent, yeah he can ball, but will he make the TEAM better??? I just don't see that happening.
Even B-marsh likes the idea http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...come-playing-1015364.html?cxtype=rss_dolphins
Its about scoring TDs. Having Moss will open up more opportunites for Marshall, Bess and the others which can only open up more opportunities for success in the red zone.
If he was a dolphin, he couldn't catch footballs, or even be on land for that matter. Silly question.
ROFLMAO I wouldnt say couldnt catch footballs... I've seen Dolphins catch footballs in their beak better than some HUMAN receivers (with hands).
I voted maybe. Love the idea of his talent, worry we woudn't use it. And that could create problems we don't need. We can win without him but it does add a new dynamic to our offense. That is if we ever throw deep more than 3 times in 7 weeks. I don't see that changing with or without him. If we get him i hope for the best, if we don't i won't be upset.
Moss is an Arsehat no doubt. Total douche. So many pro athletes are though so what are you going to do. At least he's not a felon.... Arsehat yes but not a criminal...... yet. Do you want a team of role models? Ultimately that would be great but lets face it. it's unrealistic. You have to make exceptions at times to bring in special talent. Ultimately I'm no fan of any player. I'm a fan of the Dolphins organization and want to see them win. Moss is a lesser evil considering some of the deadbeats in pro sports so I'm not against them making the exception to bring him in. Having said that, the biggest issue is not his personality, it's his willingness and motivation to play. Before bringing him in they better well make sure he's willing to put out effort. That's the biggest mystery any team picking him up will have to deal with.
Don't think it would diminish Bess at all. It would help free him up more just as much as Brandon Marshall. It would leave secondaries unable to focus on one threat.
Randy Moss makes this football team better and I really believe he would be happy in our locker room and with our coaching staff. I vote yes.
I voted no. His lack of effort worries me. If he's out on the field giving up on routes and missing blocks its taking reps away from a receiver that might actually try to help us win.
I'm not so sure Moss really wants to go back to NE, as much as he misses what he had there, and particularly from a Vikings perspective. The Dolphins still seem a bit too regimented for an ideal Moss fit, but I do think he would find it an acceptable alternative to his former digs, with an atmosphere conducive to applying his remaining talents. More importantly, a team he can return to Gillette Stadium as a key contributer and leader of, rather than an outcast returning home, deposed merely by misfortune, but still bound in loyalty.
Much as we could use his skillset, despite it's decline....too much baggage, even for 8 games... some of the stories about Moss' behavior coming out of Minny are really bizarre. Let's just leave it at that....now a poll about Merriman...I say yes to that...
I've voted yes, Not 100% sure on it happening though. On the surface, seems like a great, idea, would help this offense a ton, there's no denying that. Clearly he is also better than Hartline who would be the guy in the starting rotation he would replace. Our WR's would easily line up Marshall, Moss, Bess, Hartline at that point. Underneath all of that though, we have the other issues. If Moss is claimed by us, is he going to want to play here? Is he going to give 100%? Is he going to fit in, keep quiet and do his job? Is he going to not create a disturbance? Those are the things I'm not so sure of. However, that being said, he's only here for the remainder of the year unless we gave him an extension. That though, is probably the other issue. He's been complaining all year about not having job security and an extended contract. I'm sure the vikes had no intentions of extending Moss past this year, hence his reason for acting up and wanting out. He's probably thinking, boy, if I get waived, if someone picks me up and I dont want to play there, I'll just tank it, they'll cut me, and life is good, I'm a free agent again. OR, the best case scenario for him is nobody claims him, he clears waivers, becomes a free agent, and is free to find a team that will give him a deal worth a few years. Lets face it, thats what he wants. Will Ross throw 3.4 million at him for the rest of this year? By the sounds of things out of Miami so far, the answer would be yes. Would we thow cash, and a few year deal at him to keep him happy and under contract? I'm not feeling that being something we'd want to do. Now, all of that being said... I see someone claiming him well before he gets to us, then of course one of the above scenarios will play out. He's either going to show up, collect his cash, play and be a free agent next year, or he's going to sit out if he doesn't want to play for whoever claims him, or lastly, he's going to clear waivers, go where he wants on an extended deal. Either way, if we get the opportunity to claim him. I hope we do. He makes the offense that much more deadly for our opponents. I just don't see it happening, but I see it as a risk worth taking.
Well that leaves out the waiver wire, so we have to assume he'll clear waivers (which seems to be likely) and then you can bring him in and talk to him first....if they claim him on the wire and this is not one of his 'places to be' list....we're stuck then...
His motivation to play is the problem. Thing is, after all of these years, anyone seriously think that he will change....seriously? NO ONE can make him change at this point. That's just part of his game. So you have to expect that from him (taking plays off) and hope that the good from him outweighs the bad. Its hard not to think about how bad *** Marshall is going to be when he's not being double covered. With Moss, you remember how in NE Welker caught a million passes and their offense was unstopabble even with backs not as talented as we have with Ronnie and Ricky? Since MARSHALL > Welker...can you imagine how great Marshall will become??!?!?!?!?!
Would've mentioned Bess, but I am overly excited as it is and I dont want the let down to be bigger than it will be if something like the Pats end up with him again.
Not a huge deal if they do. He still wants a contract, which they are not willing to give him. That is unless BB made one of the greatest deals of all-time and Randy takes less money to play there till he retires.
I can't believe anyone can trick themselves into seeing a downside to this. The risk is minimum. The Plus is HUGE. Moss + Marshall?????!?!?!? Are you kidding me?
I said yes. He ****s up and says Miami Subs sucks, I could care less. Make the team better and you're fine by me
