Marshall has issues but hes still our best player by far and hes still kinda young no way I would trade him.
You guys get to see more games than I do. At best, I get to see highlights and read stats, but when I see highlights of Marshall...wide open in the endzone...and the ball is placed right between the numbers...and he gets his hands on the ball...a catchable pass....and he drops it?????? Marshall was brought to Miami to be a playmaker. Playmakers make plays. Playmakers score touchdowns. Does our front office have issues? Yes Does our coaching staff suck to the highest level of sucktivity? Yes But you can't....there's NO WAY on God's green Earth you can blame the front office nor the coaching staff for an "elite" playermaker dropping passes that are dead square in his hands in the endzone AND he's wide open. You can't!!!! If nothing, you credit the coaching staff for making the call that put this "elite" playmaker wide open in the endzone for him to make the play. Brandon Marshall has been an EPIC fail in Miami. The writing was on the wall in Denver with all of his off field baggage. But alas, like so many other players with baggage from Lawrence Phillips to Brandon Marshall we "saw something" there. Yea, something was there alright...and Marshall's full of it!!
The Marshall fade play has never worked in 2 years, no mather how good or how bad a player is, after trying the same play at least 25-30 times for it to fail every time, not trying some other play is a complete joke

What? Did we even run a single fade to Marshall all of last year? I'm pretty sure I can count on one hand how many times we've thrown a fade to him.
It appears you did stop right there. I'm waiting for the Marshall defenders to logically explain to me the justification for him dropping an easy, catchable pass between the numbers wide open. Care to give it a shot Section?
I say dump Marshall for any draft picks that we can get out of him. The #19 jinx is working. He is the reincarnation of Ted Ginn and his dropped balls. He is a liability, a headcase and a distraction.
I don;t need to justify Brandon Marshall's drop in that game. Matt Moore continually threw the ball late and off target. Yet, Marshall put up the best game versus Revis in 2 years...with a total piece of crap at QB.
Frankly, I think the guy is tanking on purpose and no amount of defending him will change my mind. Fact he has dropped many balls in the endzone that should have been TD's that other lesser receivers will and do catch on a daily basis in the NFL. FAct last night he finally gets wide open behind the D nothing but grass in between him and the endzone and he mysteriously runs out of bounds. Before you nutcases try to defend that I will remind you that he was 5 yards in bounds when he made the catch and was NOT stumbling when he veered out of bounds. Who in the heck does that? The guy can play football, He can catch passes and make plays, He is a very capable receiver. The only conclusion I can come to is he is tanking.
Yes, deflect to Moore's performance yet say nothing about the easy ball that was in Marshall's hands in the endzone...again....as usual. Politically, you and I are usually on the same sheet of music. Analysis of Miami football on the otherhand....
Because Marshall throws the ball to himself. Then I agree..Brandon Marshall is a terrible quarterback.
And if that is indeed the case....BENCH HIM! I'm sure there are younger receivers that would KILL for a shot to try and make a name for themselves. Some young hungry receiver named Terrell Owens did that in San Francisco behind Jerry Rice.
Sparano does not have the balls to do what he needs to do with Marshall, which is bench his azz, forwith and post haste, he allows him to play like cow flop, claps his hands when he screws up, then sends him back out there. I'd prefer Greg Camarillo.
If he did throw the ball to himself, he'd only drop the pass. 5 dropped Td's..5, we cannot afford to have him play, yet play he will, which is one of the problems with the team, performance does not matter, that falls directly on Sparano.
Yes, of course Section. Hey, what if he was being thrown to by a GREAT QB...like say...Peyton Manning? Oops, even being thrown to by the great Peyton Manning, Marshall drops an easy TD pass. Naw, it's still Moore's fault....and Henne's fault.
He is winning. He is getting Ten Million a year for doing next to nothing except run around and wave his arms.
Three passes that were intended to Marshall in the endzone if I remember correctly. The first one, Revis definitely had pass interference, at the very least illegal contact. Marshall had no shot at the ball as Revis was all over him in a manner that a flag should have been thrown. But the refs didn't see it... however they managed to catch illegal contact on Vontae Davis. Nonetheless, it's not something you can blame on Marshall, IMO. The second one, was a slant if I recall. Five yard slant. It was off target, behind Marshall. It was a pass that Marshall had to change body position and should have been caught. However I'm not going to chastise him for dropping it. The last one was somewhat of a fade. There wasn't a dropped ball on that one. Revis got his hand infront of Marshall and deflected the ball. Excellent play by Revis there, I don't think many cornerbacks do that. I think it's insane to trade away a playmaker in Brandon Marshall when we wouldn't really get much value. Insane. Terrell Owens dropped a lot of passes, but he's a future Hall of Famer. Roddy White is leading the league in dropped passes with 6 (Marshall has 5), but I don't think you guys would be suggesting to send White packing.
Did somebody post a video from a pro bowl game to make a point? (and a terrible video to boot) Why not home video from a company picnic flag football game?
Well, now. Since you seem to be absolutely positive that we are all off of our rocker by claiming that Brandon Marshall is not by the faintest stretch of imagination living up to the number of picks for which he was traded or the salary which he is being paid, would you care to dip into the well of your all-encompassing knowledge and perception of the game and illuminate those of us cursed with such blindness, and explain just what we are missing in the plays which we see culminating with footballs on the ground that have just left his hands. Please, we pray, do so in order that we who are without your wisdom and insight might see just what you see.
We gave up two 2nd round picks... knowing our history with 2nd round picks, we wouldn't have done much with them.
This. Also, was I the only reason who saw Marshall dominate Revis? Supposedly overrated/underperforming WR schools the supposedly best CB in the NFL and we're complaining? Come on. Marshall's biggest problem last night was Moore's throwing the ball late.
That may very well be, but we need to secure Luck by any means necessary. This is about winning the war, there will be casualties. (and I apologize for the war reference, just couldn;t think of anything more creative)
I wouldn't say dominate. He ran, what a slant, comeback and shallow on all his routes? That's not an easy cover for any defensive back, and Revis handled it pretty damn well I'd say.
Marshall played well 90% of the time, but ruined that with the other 10%. That slant in the endzone was a poor throw, but if you want to be a top-5 WR, you need to catch those bad balls. Blowing an easy TD by falling out of bounds is just unacceptable. He did play well for the most part though. I think its clear that he will get more opportunities with Moore in at QB. But I think Moore targeted him a little too much. ETA: forgot to mention the jumpball that Marshall missed in the endzone while being covered by Cromartie. Thats another play he needs to make.
I would say that Moore showed a lot more anticipation than we've seen from Henne, which helped Marshall a lot. Even the back shoulder throw that Revis batted away in the end-zone was a really good throw.
6 catches, 109 yards against the CB touted to be the NFL's premiere shutdown corner and possibly the best since Deion Sanders. Yeah, I'd call that dominating.
No..not the only one..I have been harping on this since the game ended last night. The Marshall hate brigade doesn't want to hear any of it.
Well once again Marshall went out and proves he is not a big playmaker. The announcers know, NFL fans know it, hell the whole world knows it except for a few Dolphin fans that are still clinging to false hope. The guy is advertised as some big time # 1 WR when in actuality the guys game is nothing but one big lie. I have been screaming this from the rafters since we traded for him but no one would listen. Now the truth is starting to surface about how over rated the guy is. He didn't fight for the ball last night at all and what about the awareness to stay in bounds and finish the play. Brandon Marshall is a complete embarrassment to this football team.
