Apparently Parcells has this buyout option in his contact for this year if Wayne leaves, which is more than likely... If Parcells does leave when Wayne sells his majority stake of the team, does it really hurt us as much as some may think? Sparano and Parcells have been coaching together every year since 2003 (less 2007), and all three have been together since 2005 when Ireland joined Parcells staff as national scout then getting promoted to vp of college scouting.. That being said, Sparano and Ireland already know how Parcells works and how to build a Parcells team, and how to coach a Parcells team. Parcells has laid his blueprint for the team Ireland and Sparano know how it works and how to carry it out. Sparano knows how to coach a Parcells type team and Ireland and Sparano both know how to attack the draft and free agency... So in that, does it really hurt us as much as people think if Parcells does leave at the end of the season? Not saying I want him to, but I dont think it hurts too much because Sparano and Ireland know how to be a Bill Parcells (I think).
As long as Parcells doesn't poach anyone from our coaching staff or front office, I really don't think his departure will hurt us drastically.
Parcells has done exactly what he was brought in to do. Fix the Miami Dolphins. He worked his magic and none of us will ever forget about it if he leaves. I'm fine with him leaving, as long as he doesn't take anyone from our staff with him, as GARDENHEAD said.
The only thing I would be worried about is that he would raid our team and coaching staff.. Although, he might be able to poach a few cowboy players still... And I dont want him going back to the Jets.
Parcells is a great Draft guy as well....I hope to see him stay...he keeps the players on Edge...We need some1 who will stay throughout though...not just a quick fix IMO!
i believe we all will find out the quality of man he is very shortly. ya'll know how i feel about him. Hes been misjudged by the media all his life. Whats happening here is a gross exagerration. mortenson is now dead in my eyes.i can't stand that man.
At this point, they may even be more important than Parcells... I think Parcells influence (in terms of him being seen at the HQ) is really what has turned things around. I dont see Sparano or Ireland leaving with BP if he decides to go.. This is Ireland and Sparano's team now, they have to take solice in the fact they are now heads of a franchise.. What they accomplished only happened once in the history of the NFL and that record we tied.. Being as proud of that as they can be is a vast reason why they stay.. Not to mention the commaradary they formed with the players
Same thing I said in the other thread: At the end of the day.. I really see nothing to worry about with Sparano and Ireland. It's my understanding that both of these guys wanted to make their own name for themselves, not live off Parcells coat tails forever. Even if Parcells leaves, Sparano and Ireland will have their home in Miami. This is their team and it will be their legacies, not BP's. Now let's get back to work.
