Our team beat the Jets twice, and beat Indy every which way but on the scoreboard. Now, one of the two is gonna be in our locker room, and playing on our field in the Super Bowl.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thoughts?

In fine with Indy making it, but the Jets tripped, slipped, and fell into the playoffs. Yes, they finished strong, but they are not a complete team.
In the playoffs they beat a Bengals team that was overrated, and a Chargers team that lost the game due to 3 failed kicks (how often does that happen, seriously), any of which would have sent the game into OT.
If they can beat Manning and the Colts, I'll shut up, and say they deserve it.
The Colts though have been the real deal all year, and aside from laying down their last couple games of the season have taken everyone to the shed that played them. The Colts deserve to go, old rivals or not.
I do find it rather aggravating that we beat the Jets twice, and proved we are better than them this year hands down, and they're going to the AFC Champ game, but eh, what can do you. I really do not think that they have the talent to run the table though, and if they do, so be it.
One thing to remember guys, the Jets have already put their cement boots on for next year. Without the CBA, they'll only be able to sign one free agent, for every 2 that walk. So if they lose anyone on that team due to contract disputes they're going to have a VERY hard time resolving that loss. I'm actually going to go have fun and see who their free agents are this year.
Edit: Looks like quite a few could fall off in FA: http://gnb.scout.com/a.z?s=61&p=9&c=12&yr=2010&nid=83&lnid=83&rc=16&cti=ndolfan7171 likes this. -

I used to have this mystical idea that only complete teams win the superbowl or win in the playoffs.
It's just not true...you get in the playoffs you have a shot.
Cardinals a few years ago, steelers won as a wildcard...jets are a wildcard
I never will subscribe to the thinking of "well it would be better if we didn't make the playoffs this year because of draft picks and whatnot" ever again...i have in the past as a justification for not making it.BigDogsHunt likes this. -
Not at all, we (The Fins) have no one to blame but themselves for not being in the playoffs.

Granted, every team has injuries. However, when you're 2 years removed from a 1-15 you can't afford to have guys like that go down and expect to contend. Not yet anyway. -
It makes me mad at our FO. If they had drafted some talented players who'd actually make a difference on the field instead of Patrick Turner and Pat White we could be be in the playoffs now. That could have been 2 starting LB's for us or a new ILB and a FS. I'm really pissed off now.

with three weeks left in the season everyone here was beaming over our chances of winning out and making the playoffs.
i stated there was no way it would happen because of how inconsistent the football team was throughout the season.
some live with blinders on when it comes to the dolphins and just buy into the hype.
i prefer to see things how they really are. -
Let's be clear.
We never smoked the Jets, we beat them in two very close games.
No matter what you may think of the Jets if they make it to the super bowl they would have earned it. They would have beaten the #3 seed, #2 seed and the #1 seed all on the road. So even if you hate them they earned it.
Their QB is playing not to lose.
The oline is great with very good RBs
and the defense is playing out of its mind.
Lets be clear if norv turner wasn't an idiot they would have won. SD couldn't run and when they passed on 3rd down the jets came a blitzing, so where was the 1st and 2nd down passing (and the screens were not working all day). No body could cover Gates and they needed more sproles out in the passing game. But the jets played like this years nebraska cornhuskers. smothering defense, run and occ pass but don't turn it over.
No matter how much you hate ryan and the jets (and I do) they would have earned the super bowl if they get there. -
-
If that green POS team wins sunday, it will be the first time since the early, early 80's that I would have missed a Super Bowl. No way in hell am I going to watch that crap on my TV. I hate the fircking JEST, fricking hate them.
-
Exactly what i was thinking. A few more pieces and i think we are very capable. -
It hurts a bit that the Jets are doing well in the playoffs but after watching all the games this weekend it really seems like the NFC teams are just a higher caliber than the AFC teams this year. Colts are good but you have to admit in the back of your mind your giving the Jets a chance to win that game. Would you give them a chance to win against the Vikings or Saints after seeing them play this weekend? Seems like it's gonna be a blowout Super Bowl regardless if Jets or Colts get in but at least the Colt's stand a chance. Vikings and Saints have so many weapons that the one man band Derell Revis will be a non factor for the Jets vs either of those teams.

Just because a coach can eat and talk and drop a #2 all at the same time doesn't mean his team is going anywhere. The Jest played the Bungles and a Norv Turner squad after playing three consecutive teams that were sitting players. The numbers are now against them as the other three teams will be ready, willing, and able to kick the arse of any inferior football squad placed in front of them.
I don't look to the Jest as inspiration. They are a fluke and will be one of those playoff teams you never hear about again.
And Rex's mouth may be able to sell a few Tix, but in a couple of years, he'll be on the streets doin' TV with his daddy if he hasn't died of a heart attack. No class, no players, and now no draft picks and restricted FA. -
Say whatever you want. We would kill to be them right now. They are the team that Sparano dreams of building here. Overachieving douchebags or not.

I've had enough, I'm now officially on board for a new stadium to be built here in Los Angeles.
Not for a team, for Superbowls.
The Pats were bad enough, but the JESTS? It'll be like a HOME game.
Gut check time for all local denizens of Miami-Dade County, as the mere thought of the Jets and their fans entrenched in our house, even 2600 miles away turns my stomach.
This is what happens when you host the Superbowl every other year, Teams begin treating the place like its league property. Landshark Stadium? Sun Life Stadium? I'd rather LA build a stadium, host it here, and give Joe Robbie his stadium back. -

points can also be said about the JETS second game when they dominated us IN EVERY WAY EXCEPT FOR 2 PLAYS BY GINN.
We may have swept the JETS but we were outplayed
by a huge margin in that second game
TRY 104 TOTAL NET YARDS VERSUS 378 NET YARDS
The Jets and Indy are where they are because they won when it mattered and we didn't -
all it tells me is that a few more guys added to our roster, a little more experience for the rooks and we have ourselves a championship team, it doesnt make me crazy it makes me motivated, and it better ****in make our guys motivated as well!

I'm not saying we would have won the game without that, we probably would have lost, but who knows what happens in that game if the offense marches on the field instead of Ted Ginn's gimme points.
