I don't know who the player is how we'd possibly afford another name, but Dolphins twitter seems to be hearing something because I keep seeing comments about 3 incomings in 24 hours. Armstead, Tyreek....who is the third unless I'm being stupid and have forgotten a signing in all the madness.

I don't think so, Waddle's instant acceleration is lightning fast, but his long speed is not. He does not sustain it as much as Hill and his top speed is not as fast. I saw waddle get caught from behind a couple times last season on long runs, go back and watch the Carolina game. Donte Jackson who runs 4.32 caught him from behind in that game.

Yeah, Waddle is fast, but his specific advantage is his quickness. Hill is quick and fast. He's so fast, he outran angles against the Bills in the playoffs. Love me some Waddle, but I don't think he can do that.

Lmao Waddle slowed down on that slant route towards the end Bc the safety had the angle.

The guy chasing him was faster than him, and Tyreek hill would have taken that to the house. The safety had a slight angle, but there was a window there to outrun everyone to the end zone.

Waddle's short area quickness and acceleration is elite, but his long speed not so much. Anyway the point I was making is that he is not as fast as Hill, that doesn't necessarily make him slow, just slower by comparison.

Serious question. Why wasn’t Flores given the same support for signing and rebuilding the offense the last few years? Why all the sudden are we doing all the things we can to make out offense better? Was it not asked by Flores or was he being shut down to get rid of him?

I felt like they were attempting to replicate the Patriot Way here in Miami. These moves aren't typical of the Patriots and more typical of Miami days in the past (and really most of the NFL this year). I don't think this is something you do to build a year-in, year-out contender, so I do wonder if we jumped the gun a bit going all-in like this.

I've heard that Flores was denied several of the upgrades (coaching/players) that's been granted to this new coaching staff, and it probably dates back to the key incidents mentioned in the lawsuit. In general, Miami has always been willing to spend money on players and coaches...except for last year for whatever reason. Flores was granted Byron Jones but basically nobody else substantial in his three seasons here. Well, Fuller too...that was just a total flop and not the front office's fault.

I know Flores asked for a top line coach and was told no. I can't answer on the other positional coaches, but everyone saw our salary cap last season and that was pretty impressive for a 9-win team. If the organization made these moves last year, then maybe we didn't start out 1-7 and none of this would have happened. Looking back though, I think Flores was doomed from the start and last year was his last no matter what. If an organization wants you out, then you're out.

In the front office's defense though, we did need to see Eichenberg, Hunt and Jackson another year...it was too early to bench anyone. It stunk and it really set the team back, but in hindsight it was probably the smart move. At the same time though, we should have had quality backups that could have stepped in at OL and WR. That killed any chance Tua had of having a great year.

At this point though, it's water under the bridge. Flores is gone and we're back to spending money aggressively. I think we overpaid for Tyreek but good gosh, this offense could really be something special this season. I'm excited.

"Yeah, he a penguin!" Cracked me up.

Tyreek mentoring Waddle is practically a dream come true for this organization. So excited!

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that "several teams" have shown interest in Dolphins WR DeVante Parker.

The Eagles were singled out in this report. After bringing in Tyreek Hill, Parker has clearly faltered in importance to the Dolphins. Philadelphia struck out on major wideouts in free agency, bringing in only Zach Pascal. Parker has a $8.7 million cap hit for 2022, but could restructure as part of a trade. He's entering his age-29 season and could be a boost for another team while recouping a small bit of the draft value Miami gave up for Hill.

Good, get him a bus ticket! Williams has just as much upside and just as much ability to get hurt- we don't need both!

Interesting that the rumours are now Miami for Brady as all the talks just before Brady unretired seemed to be Brady to the 49ers. Makes me wonder if somebody moved over in that time that Brady wanted to work with.

I'd never say never, but IMHO, there's no way in hell Brady would play anywhere but Tampa Bay this season. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I think he's where he wants to be. Also, he's in a division where the Bucs have a great chance of winning it, while the Dolphins have to deal with the Bills.

I don’t believe it either, but it would be the ultimate way to stick it to the Pats before he (finally) rides off into the sunset.

I’ll be interested to see what we can get for Parker. On one hand, when he’s healthy he’s a pro bowl caliber WR. On the other hand, he’s rarely healthy. Does that mean multiple late round picks or a 2nd/3rd. I’d be happy with 3rd and ecstatic with a 2nd.

As long as they don't trade Gesicki or Howard. They do either of those and I'll be pissed.

Same here. I'd add Jones to that list as well since the defense depends on those two shut-down corners. Anyone else though? Well, Waddle and Hollins obviously, but I don't think we'd trade any young players anyway.

It's so silly that signing bonuses don't count against the cap the same way as salaries do. Why not just convert everyone you're definitely keeping this season to signing bonuses?

The NFL has always wanted a soft cap. You then have the option to borrow from future money, and if the cap is rising, it's all good -until it isn't. That said, I like the move of pushing some money into the future as the OL still needs at least one more guy.

Tua will have an OL and weapons on offense: If he can't stay healthy and produce in 2022 you try to move on in 2023.

Also, not much of a draft class to worry about paying this year, so even more to spend.

We could definitely use the upgrade at LB. I still would like another pass rusher too. You need to make these qbs uncomfortable

I’m definitely singing a different tune. Now it comes down to can Tua actually play a full season and can he be good enough to lead us to a super bowl. All excuses are out the window now. It’s prove it time but at least we gave him the tools to be successful.
