A time when Miami had a great run game, a great defense, and... only the QB held the team back. Let's hope history DOES NOT repeat itself.

News flash genius, Tyreek Hill was a 5th round pick. There are pro bowl players to be had in every round, and at a bargain price if your GM actually knows how to draft.

Hill talk starts when the banner pops up, around here:
    upload_2022-3-23_21-47-33.png

On the deep game of Hill and the deep ball with Tua:

Elite weapons make QB's better ref. Hill and Alex Smith.
In addition, in 2018 Tua lead the SEC in deep balls.

    Tua's arm isn't necessarily weaker than Burrow's.
Watch for the difference when better receivers generate more space and make deep passes easier for QB's.

    Section around here:

I'm not upset about this. I'm upset about everything leading up to this. This is a desperation move by Grier as he knows he only has one more season to make it work. As much as you are all excited, we are not suddenly going to be competing for a super bowl.

We still have a lousy QB, and our defense is overrated, more a product of the system and changes made by Flores last year mid season, before that and when it counted most, they couldn't stop the good teams.

    What a move !!
    Franchise turning point IMO.

New Modern offensive football coach with 2 of the most explosive offensive weapons in the game. Let the hype begin!!!

    And to all the people saying Tua is going to urinate in our cornflakes… remember this;

-Waddle caught for over 1,000 with Tua, Flores, and no offensive line.
-McDaniel schemed Deebo into the most explosive wide receiver in the game last year… with Jimmy Freakin G as his QB.

What exactly do you think you proved with that article?

No one ever said it was easy, but the good teams and GMs manage to find pro bowlers in every round. That's what the article states as well, teams that draft better win more. Novel concept. How many pro bowlers exactly has Grier drafted since 2016? I'll b waiting...

Only Howard as far as I can recall, and keep in mind the dolphins have had more draft capital to work with in that period than pretty much any other team.

You all are just going to forget everything up to this point and actually believe we are now super bowl contenders because of these desperation moves by Grier?

I for one am excited about this, but not overwhelmed with joy. Tua has to deliver on his end. He's got zero excuses at all at this point and that's the only thing with all of this. If Tua underwhelms in the least, this wont work. We've gotten him running backs, plenty of speed, O lineman that can actually block, and now we've added Hill who is one of the best wideouts in the game. This by all means should be absolutely fool proof and a can't miss of a season. I know we lost some draft picks, but we've had a boatload of those over the last three years and now it's time to add some real players. I applaud Grier for going big, and this can and will work if Tua delivers. It's a big if.

This means literally every war room passed him over at least four times (and several missed on him five times). That lack of certainty is precisely why it's smarter to get someone who's proven himself instead of hoping you find the right guy anywhere in the draft. According to your logic, no GMs that year knew how to draft. And here, you're derisively calling others "genius"...

You're missing the big picture aspect of this offseason: If Tua can't make this work, the roster is more than robust enough to thrive under a better QB. Of course, we want Tua to be the man this year. But if he's not, the next guy's chances to succeed are greatly enhanced by the roster he'll be playing with.

It should be noted that Tyreek was a 5th round pick directly and indirectly because of his arrest

So it was a desperation move by Grier to upgrade the offensive line and improve the receiving core? Two of the areas all of us collectively agreed needed to be upgraded and improved upon. Gotcha. Look, you can hate Grier and the team, Ross, Tua....All of them all you want, but you're sounding incredibly ignorant and foolish throughout this entire thread and only getting further out there in the wrong area. I think you're just one that complains about any and everything. Good luck to you dude. Maybe you should just take a break all together. Give it a rest for Christ sake, you sound dumb.

Nobody's missing the big picture aspect of this. Stop assuming stuff. I'm well aware that if it doesn't work with Tua this coming season that we can always try and go for another veteran player like a Kirk Cousins or someone else. Totally aware of that dude, but thanks for the reply.

That isn't something that would really worry me about him and I imagine he would request to leave long before him really caused that kind of problem.

But trade him don't release him as its not worth what they would save.

Yes, Grier is trying to make up for all of his bad decisions and bad drafting up to this point. He is hell bent on making Tua work.

Thanks for your opinion, couldn't care less.

The Dolphins won nine games and it's two weakest points were offensive line and skill players.

They sign the best offensive lineman available.

They trade for one of the biggest playmakers in recent NFL history.

    It will never be enough.

Tom Brady is going to love his new receiving weapons next year when he comes over to play 2 years for the team he will then become owner of….yes I’ll smoke another but I may just take this up to the sign it thread….

I believe that Ross was going to bring harbaugh and Brady together in Miami until the drama erupted. Then they both figured well guess we will wait this out.

I think plan B just demolished plan A.
These latest moves are a big, big thumbs up to Mike McDaniel, the superstar staff he has assembled and the hope that Tua can put it all together with time, tutelage, coaching and another year under his belt. The first year of his career in the NFL where he is actually wanted and not being actively sabotaged by the HC.

Why would they trade for an overpriced Kirk Cousins downgrade?

If Tua isn't the guy in 2022 you have two picks to grab a QB in the first round - And another 5 years of a rookie contract.

Man I hope you are right. I feel like Tua has a similar roster style that he had in 2018 but faster. I am afraid that last injury set him way back. If he is gonna be the man this year will tell us. Either he is or is not that will be all. No matter what this year will be exciting to watch….
