I'm glad I found this thread, ac. I had just read the same article and would have posted it otherwise.
...This is really good news, though. And I believe it will get done - if RB in fact wants to be here.
I would think just like with Carey, and the other FAs he'll get a fair offer, but it might not be as much as some other team might be willing to give him to leave the Dolphins.
It looked to me that he seemed really happy last year. I also think he's smart enough to know he can be a part of something special down here. So I'm thinking he'll look for some compromise with the team in order to stay.

Hope it gets done sooner rather than later. After the huge year he's about to have, the price will go up quickly!

Agree with Phineas, better to lock him up now because if he explodes this year, he'll want to break the bank.

He is my favorite player. I hope this gets done so I can keep rooting for him for years and years to come. So what do you guys think in terms of length. Another 6 years?

6 years? That's way too long for an RB lol. especially an average one (put your torches and pitchforks down I'm just kidding).

Yeah your probably right, I'm thinkin of Suggs contract how he got 6 years thats why i said that. So probably a 4 year deal is what we are looking at.

That would be more reasonable. When RBs fall off, they fall of a cliff. Ronnie has some good years left, but it's better to hedge with rbs

If it is a reasonable contract, then I'm OK with it.

Lol. Just because we do not consider Ronnie Brown elite doesn't mean we have alot in common. We just have common sense.

Signing Brown right now is a great move for the franchise IMO. We proved last year that you dont need "elite" players to win in this league.

Locking Ronnie up for another 3-4 years is vital IMO

it will all come down to $$$$$$, this FO is not going to pay him 8+ MPY ... elite or not, based on any regime that has included Parcells.

Just get the deal done, lock down one of the biggest keys to our success for the next 3-4 years. Make me very happy!

Get this done! I'm going to say a three-year deal with top 10 pay, maybe 15. Ronnie is smart enough to recognize the potential of this growing team...

Let's pray for a productive and HEALTHY few years. I think he's grown up enough to realize the importance of being in great shape and the regime knows how to put him there.

According to Salguero, Ronnie's agent is asking for ALOT of money. Understandably so, that's what agents do. I don't have the exact figures in front of me, but it was enough to make me believe this isn't a deal that gets done anytime soon. Hope I'm wrong though.

If the agent is coming out and saying there are negotiations, thats not necessarily a good thing in terms of getting a contract done. Agent could just be trying to put public pressure on the front office.

I think he is due for a 5 year extension. He is going to be good for a long time and we need to lock him in before the season starts.

His numbers will probably go down this season with his removal from the wildcat, so that should shut the agent up
