I'd be much happier at this news if we had Delanie Walker.

Because last season they used it as a bit of an afterthought and sprinkled it in. This signifies it will be a part of the gameplan from day 1 on. I don't know why I bother on this site anymore.

They used it more as the season went on and Sherman said that was because they didn't want to throw too much at him early. For that reason it doesn't surprise me that they plan to use it more next year.

Happy if they keep using it as much as they did late last season, or even increase the usage a bit, but not too much. Use it like the Wildcat to keep the defense on their toes, except this time we'll not be taking our starting QB out of any rhythm by using it.

I'm with you. It doesn't say they plan to use it often, alot, from day one. It says they plan on using it. They used it lady year a little, I don't expect trip see it a ton.

Where did this guy get his info?

Someone on the team in the know? Really? Someone, high enough up to know what offensive philosophy we are going to use BEFORE FA & the draft, decided to tell Schmucky McNobody what we were going to run.

That would probably happen by just replacing Hartline...with literally any other #1 WR.

The dog looks more inquisitive than skeptical. While I don't use twitter much, I would assume that if he tagged the team in his post it would be somewhat true. Like you wouldn't make it up and then tag the team so they see it and could then easily counter the story. I could be wrong though.

I see, a hash tag is better evidence then common sense now.

In a league where the snap count is guarded secret, a person high up enough to have been told what offense we are going to run, just blabbed to the least known reporter out there? Really? C'mon.

First it's not a hash tag, I know there is a difference between that. Second we were on Hard Knocks last year and the team wasn't concerned with teams getting stuff from that. Is it really so hard to believe someone might say "Hey we're going to use him in the read option". Even if they did would it really change anything? Oh no they know we're going to run the read option, they still have to stop it.

Are you really arguing that the average NFL team isn't secretive about stuff like this? Really?

I'm not saying teams aren't secretive, I'm just saying that this isn't a huge secret that would really give anyone an advantage.

There's no point in being secretive about it. Everyone knows he can run so they should be expecting to see him have a little more freedom in his sophmore season.

If true though it makes Wallace that much more interesting to me. Him along w Miller and Tannehill would be a ton of speed for a defense to try to deal with.

It might effect the draft and FA. Again, there is literally no reason for Miami to leak this to anyone. I'm willing to bet it is speculation based on a another reporter's speculation.

Much like how we were going to sign Harbaugh, Fisher, McCoy, Manning, Flynn, etc. last year.

Sure there is. The draft is coming up, if they don't plan on using the read option, leaking this could make teams want to trade up or down depending on scheme fitting players being available around when we pick. It also could make the pats, jets, and bills want to draft defenders that have seen this offense at the college level. It just gives opposing teams, more specifically division teams, more to think about.

Fair enough. Also after the success that other QB's had running it this year, I think we could safely assume it would peak our team's interest.

Jamey Eisenberg was born in New York but grew up in Fort Lauderdale as a local sports legend -- which of course is purely Fantasy. He did, however, star as a reserve on his high school baseball team and was a stellar coach/player in intramural basketball and football at the University of Florida.

Realizing quickly that his athletic "prowess" wouldn't get him very far, Jamey turned to journalism, even carrying a notebook to Little League games. As a former staff writer at the Palm Beach Post, Jamey has covered the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Marlins and Florida Panthers, and every major college in the state of Florida, including his beloved Gators (class of '98).

As for his Fantasy history, Jamey has won multiple Fantasy Football, Basketball and Baseball leagues. And in 2010, Jamey was recognized as having the most accurate Fantasy Football Draft rankings by Fantasy Pros, which is an independent site that judges Fantasy analysts throughout the industry.

Jamey also is featured on numerous local radio shows throughout the country, and he has appeared on national shows for Fox Sports Radio, Sporting News Radio, Westwood One and SIRIUS Satellite Radio (The Scott Ferrall Show and SIRIUS Fantasy Football). He also is among the few Fantasy analysts to ever appear on The Jim Rome Show.

Not exactly a no name. Also there is the obvious South Florida connection.

This isn't really a surprise. Mike Sherman said they'd continue to use it, just not "too much". That doesn't really tell you if they'll use it any more than they did last season, a little more, or what.

I don't think Mike Wallace is a particularly good rusher for all his speed.

If we end up running this offense for a significant portion of the plays, I'll be on the "I told you so" end of it when Tannehill struggles with injuries all season.
Like someone said, sprinkle it in to keep the defenses honest, pickup one or 2 big plays/game. saying we're going to run it all the time because it works for RGIII lacks imagination.

I would say Tannehill could handle the abuse better than RGIII. RGIII always looks so frail to me, also Tannehill did play WR for two years. Not like they were playing touch football with him then.

We just spent 15 years in QB purgatory and now that we have one that looks promising we're going to trot out some cutesie offense and get him hurt? I hate everything.

Tannehill is athletic - but he can make plays without turning him into a RB. There's a reason RBs get hurt and don't stay in the league past 30. Why in the world would you want to do that to your QB?

And while he is athletic - let's not pretend he's RG3 or Kaepernick. The payoff just isn't that great.
