I don't know. I thought I saw something on the broadcast today about them being 2nd half team. Maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway, it's moot, you aren't going to hold them to 12 with this defensive roster. What you think is a collapse, I think is a correction to the mean.

You heard one of the broadcasters say that? Dude, they’re providing color commentary during a game.

Do what I do. Do your own research and draw your own conclusions on what you’ve done.

You guys arguing about whether it's the fault of the offense or defense is pointless. Some games this year it was the other way around where the defense played well and offense was bad. End result is the same we lost.

Fact is the team as a whole is not good enough to win games against good opponents, and this is not a this year problem it goes back to last year.

We've only beaten 1 team with a winning record over the last 2 seasons, and even that was a squeeked out win against the Cowbos last year.

Grier's rebuilding project peaked last year, that was as good as it was going to get and our window has closed. This years team is worse than last year.

It makes a huge difference whether offense or defense is the problem. With Tua the offense is not the problem. That means we shouldn't just blow everything up and start all over. A window of opportunity still exists if the defense can be fixed.

I'm not saying it's easy to do that. But at least it's realistic. What's unrealistic is suggesting Ross fire Grier and blow everything up. Not going to happen if only one side of the ball is the problem and it looks like we have a franchise QB.

No he is not admitting anything.... Several people that have stated this team is not very good... This team is not winning anything this year... That this head coach and GM need to be fired... Well,

They have been called trolls by others.... He was merely making reference to that. Week by week the things he and others said about this team were right. So weeks go by and the team continues to lose.

Miami is now among the worst teams in football. The playoffs are out of sight. and the season is not even half over for us. (We are only 8 games into a 17 game season.)

What will be interesting now is whether or not the rose coloured glass wearing cheerleaders will step and admit that this was a colossal failure and that major changes need to be made?

Tua is not a Franchise QB. He has been healthy only 1 out 5 seasons, and has not won any big games. The offense is overpriced and built to put up some nice stats for Tua, but not built to win in the big games when it matters.

I know it's hard to admit, but it's the truth.

The QB can play well against tough opposition. You saw that yesterday. I know it's tough for you to admit, but he's not the problem. You can build a winner if you fix the defense.

I will play your game for a while...

So if you are arguing that the offence is fine... And that all we need do is merely improve the defence we will be "all more better"

Well our secondary needs a lot of help. Holland is not going to be here next year so we will need 2 safeties and at least one cornerback. We would need at least one linebacker.

So that is 4 quality starters on defence minimum.

But Beckham is not going to be here next year.
Mostert will likely be gone also
Armstead will be what 35 next year???

So we need at least 3 starters on offence... Really 4 if you want to also address the guard positions.

We do not have the money to just pay top dollar for big name free agents... We already have too many horrible contracts.

We do not have a ton of draft picks to trade up for the best prospects in the draft either.

Oh and if we hope to have a season where we are not a joke next year a quality QB needs to be brought in as the backup... Quality Backups usually cost a fair chunk of change...

This is why several of us here were calling for the Dolphins to be sellers weeks ago...To get as many draft picks as possible towards rebuilding this team this off season.

We had a winner last year, just being a "winner" is not the goal. The goal is the super bowl, and this team has along way to go and a lot of issues to fix befoe we can contend for a super bowl.

You make it seem like we are not far off and just need a touch up to make a run in the playofs and contend for a super bowl, that is not reality. We need a lot of things fixed, and Grier has shown he is not the guy to fix this mess he created.

Yes, Tua is very much the problem, and his inability to stay healthy allowing trash to come in (Skylar, Huntley, ect...) is also a big problem and on him. Including today, they've scored 21 points per game when Tua has played. That would rank 22nd in the league. Very much below average, and very much below expectations considering the big time offensive assets. The final 4 games of last season, the Tua led offense averaged 15.5 points per game. This offense has been figured out, and the QB is limited and fragile.

These guys are so stubborn. They'll never admit it. Whatever.

Dumb and dumber. This is a rather ridiculous take. Broadcasts provide stats all the time. What's your research? You didn't even provide stats.

I'll help you both though. Broadcast was right, and I heard it right. Buffalo is #1 in 2nd half points per game this season:

Well.. first of all it's totally unrealistic to expect us to blow things up given how Tua and the offense are playing, and it's useful to be realistic. Secondly, if you blow things up you just make it more difficult to find top notch talent at key positions because most draft picks will not become starters even with good GMs. That's true even if you doubled the number of draft picks. Finally, the issues you list aren't impossible to overcome. We'll be fine without Mostert or Beckham. We need an OT, LB, backup QB, DB, etc. That's doable in 1-2 offseasons.

People keep wanting to use certain words.

Nobody is saying Tua is the "Problem" Everyone here agrees he is a good QB. The difference is that some here say he is "Elite" and others say he is not ....

Then there are specific reasons why people who like Tua, and who have said he is a good QB is not the right fit for us moving forward.

Like health, and inability to step up and win important football games.

Tua played pretty well against the Bills... 25 for 28 (Which is great.) A lot of short and safe dink and dunk throws. (A third of his passes were short dumps to running backs.) Buffalo did a great job until the very end of making sure that Hill or Waddle did not beat them... and without Hill to rely on.... Tua became a game manager... Tua did not cough up the ball or throw a pick...213 yards... Game manager...

Even with Tua playing one of the smarter games of his life... Where he completed almost every pass... Without Hill to do a lot of heavy lifting we are not a team that can beat a team like the Bills. (we came close, only close does not count.)

    major flaw in your logic...

    1-2 offseasons

Means that Ramsey will be completely over the hill. Hill will be older and not the same player he is now...More wear and tear on Seiler...Chubb...

None of the players I just mentioned will ever improve, only decline as they are all past their prime. So 2 offseasons from now the list of positions to fill will double..

For whatever reasons, we could not win with our current stars in their prime at or close to their peak... It is folly to think that we can keep the same essential squad and run them back up hamburger hill a couple of years later and somehow get a better result?

We're not far removed from people saying we need to get rid of Tua. That was talk earlier this season. Has his recent play changed minds? Have to see clear evidence of that before no longer claiming some posters think Tua is a problem. But for now that's accurate (until proven otherwise).

btw.. StaleTacos just wrote above Tua is the problem.

Does not matter if it is 3 points or 30... Buffalo is a better team
They consistently beat us... Warm, cold, sunshine, rain... Does not matter they win we lose.

Trying to point to the fact that the score was close... Like it matters that we did not lose by 20 points.

    It means nothing.

    Look at the standings...
Look at the fact that the season is over and there is no chance of this team making the playoffs.

Hill will be fine. And you act like there's no way to replace some of these players in FA. Grier is actually quite good in FA. His problem is the draft, which further suggests replacing key players with many draft picks isn't going to help as long as he is running the draft.

I think the biggest problem on defense is the DC. We actually have many good players on defense. Coaching seems to be the bigger issue.

With all of the injuries... It is also accurate for people to say that we cannot count on Tua in the future to make a run to the Superbowl.

Watching the game yesterday it showed that Tua is undefeated against the Jets and Patriots... but is something like 1 and 7 against the Bills? (trying to remember what it was?)

Then as others have pointed out going back to last season... The Dolphins have beaten one team that had a winning record..(Cowboys)... If it is a game or two it is randomness.... small sample size... When it is starting to approach 2 seasons you have to take a closer look.

So those concerns and criticisms are valid.

Pointing out injuries is not saying that Tua is THE problem.

People can like Tua and believe he has talent... and STILL criticise him.

Stop trying to desperatly frame things to fit into your argument.

Why can't Tua be PART of the list of problems this team has...

So as to say: "Miami needs a QB they can count on to stay healthy."

A legit concern and or take to have. 100% accurate... and it is not Someone hating on Tua.. It is just talking about reality.

    You are a liar.

When he said and I quote: "Other teams have figured out this offence." He was listing it as one of THE problems...And it was not about Tua.

I mean unless you believe that Tua designed the offence and then taught it to MCD and the other coaches... And in between games Tua draws up all of the plays that will be called for the game next week and fills the coaches in on them.

Admit that you were wrong... Figuring out this offence has nothing to do with Tua.

What Perk says. No one should expect the D to win games in their current status, when you want special you should look at the O. It’s funny that some people that claimed that this team is the cream of the crop from the AFC are now still scratching a clawing while this team is 2-6.
