The Los Angeles Rams will get a visit from their old pal Jalen Ramsey this weekend as the Miami Dolphins travel to SoFi Stadium for Monday Night Football.

After a slow start to the season, the Rams have put together a solid streak of victories to push themselves to .500. The returns of star receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua could not have come at a better time too. With contenders like the Eagles, Bills, and 49ers all coming up within their next six games.

Although quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has returned for the Miami Dolphins, the team's offense has not recaptured that explosiveness that made them so dangerous in 2023. Tyreek Hill has not looked like the elite receiver that put the NFL at bay the last decade. The only player who has been performing has been running back De'Von Achane, and clearly that hasn't been enough.

Here are our experts' predictions for this Week 10 showdown.

Rams vs. Dolphins odds, moneyline, over/under
The Rams are favorites to defeat the Dolphins, according to the BetMGM NFL odds.
    • Spread: Rams (-2.5)
    • Moneyline: Rams (-135); Dolphins (+110)
    • Over/under: 50.5

    Week 10 prediction
Lorenzo Reyes: Rams 24, Dolphins 20

Miami played probably its most complete game last week, as its season is in danger of slipping away. Still, turnovers, senseless penalties and lack of focus — problems that have plagued the team all year long — hindered their shot at a victory against the Bills. The Rams, meanwhile, are seemingly improving with each week.

Tyler Dragon: Rams 24, Dolphins 22
Tua Tagovailoa’s return hasn’t resulted in wins as Miami’s lost three straight games. The Rams are getting healthy at the right time. Los Angeles is an entirely different team when Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are both active.

Richard Morin: Dolphins 30, Rams 20
Miami very quietly took the Bills, one of the best teams in the league, down to the wire in Tua Tagovailoa's return. The Dolphins are much better than their 2-6 record suggests, and I think their offense lights it up Monday night.

Jordan Mendoza: Rams 25, Dolphins 21
The Rams are suddenly alive. The weapons around Matthew Stafford have stepped up big and get past a Miami team that still can’t figure out a rhythm.

If this game goes under 51 I'll be shocked. The only real question is, will our two CBs be able to shut down their top two WRs. I believe we will score 27+ but can the defense keep them under 30? 31-30, Dolphins, as we finally win a close one

Rams have a much better run defense than pass defense. I expect the Dolphins gameplan will be to pass more.

I keep beating this drum but not going to be easy to keep them under 30 with no passrush!

I could have sworn I read that Nacua was looking at a suspension for throwing a punch last week which resulted in an ejection, but now I don’t see a suspension mentioned anywhere.

Think this is definitely winnable.. but the rams are flying high at the moment with a great overtime win.. and theyre right there in the division race..

Sieler might be back, that would be big for the whole D.

Edit: and Chop had a good game against the Bills got his first sack, I believe.

I’m going with my gut this time. Miami’s not going to lose 3 in a row with Tua back.

Team played physical with hi level run game and Qb play

I think they go after 10-7

Weaver needs help with holland, sieler and kader, hopefully Chubb soon

Cant count on staying healthy when you’ve dug this hole though

If the defense can hold a bit and we win, then 10-7 let’s go for it

Must keep that mindset they had last week, someone got them to play tough ball which hasn’t happened prior

Let's just keep Tua upright and Let's have fun. The rest of this season should be about finding out who stays and who goes on the OLine.

Chop is starting to see some results... and is playing better.... it is a process with him as he learns and adapts to the next level...

At least we are seeing real progress so we know he is not another Dion Jordan.

Chop still has to do a lot more than 1 sack to prove his 1st round grade was warranted.

So far he is a one trick pony who generates some pressure with his speed rush but rarely beats the block and gets the sack, and he is not good against the run or setting the edge so far either.

Yeah, I worried that with Chop, NFL lineman were just going to eat him up.
If he doesn’t get there with his initial burst, he gets stoned. In the last game, there was a play where the Tackle put him on the ground and Chop couldn’t recover. The Olineman just barely kept his hand on him when he was down.

I just know this, that was the best our offense head coach and Qb have looked in their three year history.

I expect to turn this thing around and get in this run man.

We just gotta find a way in defense to win

Chop has no moves though, the is all speed. He has not really figured out how to use that speed. I think he could take a step to his right, then dig back inside, but he has yet to do that.

Oh and we get to see Verse vs Chop. Verse has looked really good. Verse being taken I believe one spot higher in the draft

Yes, problem is chop is not very big or strong, so when big stronglinemen put their hands on him they can usually control him, and he doesn't look like he has the frame to get bigger and add weight while maintaing his speed so his ceiling is limited.

He will have to develop a lot more diverse set of pass rush moves and technique to overcome that, and he will always be handicapped in the run game being the smaller guy.

I would not have spent a first round pick on him.

Disagree his frame can absolutely add size, he’s actually thin in the upper body, lots of room to add 10 lbs of muscle over the next couple years

Many players take a year to adapt to the added speed and strength in the NFL.... I am not worried about Chops physical anything...

The guy is a freak athletically... The only person that compares to him in terms of explosive athleticism is Micah Parsons... Chop tested out in the 98th percentile athletically

The book on him coming out of college was that he was not a finished product and needed more development. (I hate when players leave college before they are finished products.)

Chop needed to work with next level coaches against next level opponents to grow and refine his technique and moves...

As long as we continue to see improvements.. even if they are small... I am going to feel great about Chop long term.

From the article linked in the above post:

“Chop is using power and speed and he fared well against Bills veteran Dion Dawkins on Sunday.”

And yet some here, even though I’ve been saying they are wrong, swear Chop is a one trick pony using speed.

    Again… WRONG

For four seasons, Jalen Ramsey was a critical part of the Rams’ defense, helping the club defeat the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.

But after the 2022 season, Los Angeles traded him to Miami. On Monday night, Ramsey will be back at SoFi Stadium facing his old team as the Dolphins take on the Rams. While Ramsey’s a couple of years older, Rams head coach Sean McVay said in his Thursday news conference that he’s seeing the same guy he’s familiar with on tape.

“Physical player, position flex-versatility, and he has that edge,” McVay said. “He’s one of those guys that’s so disruptive. He can make plays as a blitzer and if he gets his hands on the ball, demonstrated by last week, he’s usually going to catch it. Great player. You see a lot of the same things that made him such a fun guy to watch do his thing here. Hopefully, that won’t be the case on Monday night.”

The Rams sent Ramsey to Miami in the 2023 offseason after finishing 5-12 in 2022, as part of a roster reset. But that didn’t change how McVay feels about the defensive back, who was a critical piece in the Los Angeles’ championship run.

“I love Jalen. We have a cool relationship and he knows the respect and the admiration that I have for him as a player and what he meant to this team,” McVay said. “There were a lot of tough decisions that were on the horizon for us as a football team and it didn’t have anything to do with us not wanting him here. There were a lot of things that we had to do as a result of some previous years and things of that nature. He understood that.

“It was important for us based on what he had done for us to try to be able to find a situation that suited both parties. Miami was somebody that was interested. … I think Jalen was excited about that while also appreciative of a lot of great memories that we were able to have together.”

Ramsey was a two-time, first-team All-Pro with the Rams and was selected to three Pro Bowls. In 57 games, he recorded 10 interceptions, 47 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, 15 tackles for loss, and 2.0 sacks.

He converts speed to power well by just running full speed into the lineman and bullrushung while they are backpedalling, that is why his bullrush is good. It does not mean he is a big or strong guy he is just converting his speed into power and taking advantage of linemen who are backpeddling to respect his speed.

Bullrushing is great to help his pressure numbers but it is not going to result in many sacks. At this point he is on pace to have 2 sacks for the year, not good enough for a first round pick.

Yes he can definitely get better and has great athleticism was he worth a first round pick? How many developmenral first rounders who are not ready contribute yet are we going to keep selecting? The guy is starting full time and is on pace to have only 2 sacks this year.
