I'm confused...Are some of you actually suggesting that had Tua been healthy...Josh Allen would not have fumbled the football or thrown an interception? IF so....HOLY FK MAN! Ya'll need professional help for these delusions asap!

That’s why I don’t think he’s coming back, which adds CB to the needs list for the offseason. If Howard’s decline is due to nagging injuries this year, then maybe we get a better result from his spot. If the offseason doesn’t correct his issues, then we’re in more trouble than we thought, given the overhaul the LBs need.

The question about how the defense would have played had Tua started is only a technical one. We don't know what they would have done, but that can go in either direction. The defense might have played a lot worse or a lot better, no one knows. So assuming you don't (on average) see a change in defensive performance, there's no question we win that playoff game with Tua starting. I'd expect 10+ more points scored by our offense with Tua than we actually scored — assuming Tua doesn't "choke" in the playoffs (that's still an unknown).

I think CB is the most important issue to stabilize in the offseason from a personnel point of view. We actually have a good DL, but they need ~0.5 seconds more time to really have an impact. Aside from a better DC that doesn't just assume we have Pro Bowl level corners all the time, the most important improvement on defense has to be making sure we have good starting and backup CBs. This defense can be good if you improve the CB position a bit more so that the DL can really get pressure on the QB.

With the transition to a passing league, I agree that good corners and getting pressure from the front 4 is paramount; but our LBs were so bad that they have to be upgraded.

Just another year we were terrible covering tight ends. We allowed the second highest number of tds to tight ends this season.

Yeah, both 2000 season as well as year. On December 30th, 2000 Lamar Smith ran for 209 yards in a Dolphins victory over Indy, only for the Dolphins to be shut out 27-0 against the Raiders in the divisional round (Smith had only 5 yards rushing and Fiedler had an abysmal 28.7 rating throwing 0 TDs and 3 INTs in that Raiders game).

I don't think it's a fluke- been watching San Fran a lot this year (Deebo went to my kid's high school, so everyone local roots for them). Purdy came out of nowhere and he appears to be the real deal, great in the pocket, great arm, very quick reads, etc. Certainly does not play like a rookie, much less Mr. Irrelevant.

apparently X said if the idiot would put me in position to make plays I would make plays, without saying if that idiot put me in position to make plays. He does not seem like a fan of Boyer.
