They're at it again, these Cardiac Kids disguised as the Miami Dolphins. Proving more difficult to dispatch of than even the peskiest vampires, the Dolphins breathed new life into their season with a clutch 24-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night in Charlotte to even their record at 5-5. This sets up another dramatic finish over the final six games as Miami looks to reach the playoffs again, a feat that perhaps would be considered even more impressive than last year's shocking turnaround from 1-15 to 11-5 and an AFC East championship.

Well, to be fair the Trifecta did spend a nice chunk of money bringing in Free Agents to speed up the rebuilding process.
5 of our 22 starters are free agent signings during the Trifecta Regime. -
not so much money
nor so many free agents
compared to the other NFL teams
Miami basically builds through the draft
takes 3 or 4 year to rebuild a Franchise
we are in year two,
the third year will be the charm
We Will Contend in 2010! -
-
Even more interesting (to me) is Andy Kent did not speculate on who will fill the empty roster spot vacated by Fergie. -
can you not acquire depth via FA?
re: ferg, maybe he just doesn't have enough of an educated guess besides the guys already on our team. in those situations it's better to keep the pen quietLandShark13 likes this. -
we desperate need to acquire another starting calibre NT w/ the aging Ferguson out for the season & @ the end his career. this will be a priority.
-
As long as the Oline is doing it's job, those other positions can be later in the draft priorities.
I also think we need a scat back type, a Warrick Dunn/Eric Metcalf/Dave Megget sort of player. -
We are fine at RB....we need LB badly followed by WR and DL. 'Scat back' would be great, but down on the priority list.
-
I struggle to see a bigger need than ILB and NT. This team is built on stopping the run and dominating the trenches. WR and TE are the sexy picks - but our biggest problems are in the middle of our defense.
-
It sure is nice to not have to worry about the secondary in how many years?
Could Sperry be the TE we have been looking for?
Also could Vince Wilfork be a target if he doesn't sign in NE? I know this group doesn't like to overpay but Wilfork is a good NT. -
I think we are actually 1 top-notch WR away.
In order:
MLB
TE
RB
Are our needs. -
In this scenario, I would see us using rounds 2-4 or 5 on defense, primarily NT and MLB.
