jesus get over it... i get so tired of hearing about the people we passed on, brees (2 times), boldin, brady, whoever... yes **** happens in the draft, there are hits and misses, lets focus on the drafts in front of us and who is on our team now... im so tired of everyone harping on the what ifs, the imagine if we had player X, etc... it doesn't matter anymore... yes they were dumb decisions, but nothing can change it now... there is zero point in bringing it up anymore... that was a draft that was 6 years ago!
Exactly. No one is really damning the FO for passing on Tom Brady and James Harrison. However, with Brees and Boldin, Wanny overruled the player personnel/scouting people. Giving Wanny the role of GM was the worst move in Dolphins history.
Hence the reason some people here think Wayne was not actually a good owner (I'm not one of them). They believe this act alone sabatoged the Dolphins.
Boldin would not have been the same receiver here as he is in Arizona. Remember, he would have had Feidler and Feeley throwing to him... But yeah- Wanny blew that pick.
lmao. really? Boldin lead the league in catches with Jeff Blake and Josh McCown at QB. Marcel Ship at RB and Bryant Johnson opposite him
Both of whom are better QBs then Fiedler or Feeley.. I agree that he should have been the pick. But I dont think he would have had the same success here as he has in Arizona.
I'm just glad Parcell's and Ireland drafted for us last year and this year again. I'm still in shock of how many quality players they can add to a football team in only one draft.
Haven't we played the 'Wanny' card enough already ?? Boldin didn't have a fabulous game last night...the fact is...he lost.... Seriously though, I just don't see this regime giving up the big bucks as well as the draft picks for Boldin, even if the Cards want to give him up....I believe the last reports on the cap situation across the league had them sitting pretty...and Boldin is under contract... The Trio will do what is best for this team, no doubt...I just don't see that trading for Boldin is in the teams best interest, at the reported costs of making such a move...
I dont know.. thats a close one. Wanny vs. Matt Millen. I'd have to say Millen. Wanny was coaching and making personnel decisions up until his last year. All Millen had to do was pick the players and he was just as bad as Wanny. Both deserve a courtesy flush.
blah blah blah... everyone knows we could have drafted boldin... theres over 200 players a year we could have drafted... lets make a big deal out of that too. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. Thanks to wannstedt... we lost on this one.. its over and done with. If he becomes a FA, lets grab him and not make the same mistake twice.
I still think its Wanncrap. We only had 1 of his draft picks in 6 drafts stay with the team. That is not just sad, but lower than pathetic.
It's a discussion board. We discuss things here. And BTW, no one here is in the position to grab Boldin via free agency either. That's up to the Dolphins' front office.
I agree with you, but it highlights the even more mind boggling choices the Wanny regime made. Jamar Fletcher over Drew Bree's Eddie Moore over Anquan huvk
