First let me start off by saying today is an exciting day to be a Dolphin.
We'd like to welcome Greg Jennings and Jeremy Zuttah to our team.
Greg is a tremendous talent.
I feel he is an elite wide receiver in this league.
He turns 27 this year and has averaged 60 receptions and 1,000 yards in the four years he's been in the NFL.
Last season was his best in my opinion.
I thought he had a tremendous game in the playoffs versus the Cardinals.
I feel you receive validation as a special player if you make special plays in playoff games and Greg was just amazing in that game.
I think he takes our offense to the next level.
We were looking for someone to get those "chunk" yards and Greg is a big play guy.
Now we did have to give up a lot to get him.
Vernon Carey was sent to Green Bay along with a third and sixth round draft pick.
I'd like to thank Vernon for his time with us and wish him well in the future.
We feel we have a couple of guys who can play right tackle on our team and will always seek to improve our team by any means necessary.
Jeremy Zuttah comes over from Tampa Bay.
Good size kid, relatively young as he turns 24 this year.
He started all 16 games this previous season.
He can play guard or tackle.
Tremendously strong guy, 35 reps at the combine back when he was drafted.
Love his versatility... Our plan right now is to have him compete and likely start at left guard along side Jake Long.
He's a former 3rd round pick.
I know the Bucs were very high on Zuttah and I'm very happy to have him on our team.
If you look at the fourth and sixth round picks we gave up.
I feel that is great value in return for those picks as I don't believe you'd find the level of quality that Zuttah has.
So, he's just one building block as we try to piece together an even better offensive line that what took the field last year.
We also say goodbye to Joey Porter and Greg Camarillo.
I would personally like to thank each for their contribution to our franchise and wish them the best in the future with Kansas City and San Francisco.
