Yes. He's more of a DE than an OLB like he was in NY. He has talent. Still young. Can pump him for Jets info.

    Good job by Tannenbaum!

Great pick up, this dude has elite measurables. Our dline looking a lot better now, lots of talent up front. Shelby/OV played great last week against an elite oline now we add him. Sorry LBsFinest, the talent is there, you're wrong about this entire team.

Anybody can have a turnaround by switching environments. We've seen it happen. It's worth a shot to see if he can help us for sure why not.

Oh hell yes, this guy was a first round pick just a few years ago. Give him the rest of the season to show us something.

If they don't cut him by next week then they must really like him because they are on the hook for his injury-guaranteed $7.8 million salary in 2016. If he suffers an injury that prevents him passing a physical on March 9th the Dolphins are on the hook for $8 million they canNOT afford.

Part of me wonders if they cut him after this week, after giving him a game check and pumping him for info about the Jets, then pass him through waivers once again and try and sign him once he clears.

Better chance I think that Tannenbaum's ego is invested in this move and he'll stick with Coples and try to make it work, even with us being stuck with the $8 Million price tag.

To be fair though, that turnaround usually happens when players LEAVE Miami.

Lets hope he doesn't start hanging out with Dion Jordan. That would be some set of busts.

But that's blaspheem according to some of our fellow fans. You know, picking up players to acquire info on the other team like NE does.

If that's what you're picking them up for, just to immediately discard them afterward, ya, that's cheesy as hell.

You know earlier in the day I wondered why no one posted about his release and the possible tannenbaum reunion. Then thought it'd be too simple to happen. Go figure.

I wonder if the 5th year option is still in affect, the only reason I wonder is because I'm not sure this has ever happened, I certainly don't remember it ever happening, and are there any clauses in the rules about such a thing.

He is in the last year of the contract he signed, the 5th year option is exactly that, an option the team can take without consent of the player, so I just wonder if there is some type of clause that negates the option because he was waived from the original team that took the option.

It's an odd scenario, who cuts a guy that they just picked up the option on?

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough though.

Damn thats a pretty big risk, I don't know that I would have done that. Especially for a guy thats been a disappointment and has the rep of having effort issues.

    Well away from here
Looks as though we just traded Olivier Vernon for Coples next year given the salary if we keep him.

Is he good against the run at de is all I want to know. We've got plenty of rush, very little run stopping ability at both DE spots. This move intrigues me because it may push Dion to his natural spot at LB. He'll be cheaper than OV next year and gives us more flexibility with determining what to do with Wake.

Try to keep Dion if only to cover Gronkowski twice a year. Our LBing unit suddenly looks a lot better with Dion, Jelani and Misi/Hewitt... Maybe Hull or Vigil lights up as well.

There's no way they keep that 2016 salary. They'll re-negotiate it if they plan to keep him around. He'll get less than half of that.

I would look for him to be used on the inside in pass rush situations.

From what I can recall from stej fans, that's the best job for him to do.

Have you seen who we have playing LB?

I'm kidding. I agree, Jordan is basically sunk cost. But Hewitt, Luc, Sheppard, even worse.
