http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/spo...1/dolphins_our_draftnik_in_london_starts.html I've never seen some shameless self promotion I didn't like. The more traffic the better because as the death rattle starts for the print news industry, I might get the chance to do this again next year if enough people show an interest. Next blog drops tomorrow. S
Just been proof reading the new one and am about to hit send. Hopefully it should be up mid morning tomorrow. S
Good write up Boom. If we go LB I'd prefer Sintim or English, but I am really warming up to a safety at #1 (though less and less on Moore's bandwagon after he got hurt again). Can't forget about Pettigrew or Smith should they last to us, I just don't think they will is all.
I agree, its time Miami gets back to the traditional playmaking secondary. Those days with Surtain Madison and Marion, those were great. Could you imagine if we had Goodman, Allen, Bell and Delmas. That would be legit.
Yeah. Getting called a cancer is a bit harsh Miamimama - clearly a Phins poster. And Bill Peters........seriously......
Will the second article start to narrow down the list or will it be more for 2nd round? BTW keep doing what you are doing, those of us with half a brain appreciate teh time and effort you put into it. You dont have to do it and for some people you could give them a billion dollars and they will b*#*h about the taxes.
I think the breaking it down will come much closer to the time. There's still such a long way to go, I'd be a bit foolish to try and narrow it down now because I could end up with even more egg on my face than I will anyway! This week's is about some of the Senior Bowl interviews we did. I've got all sorts of different ones lined up. I don't think I'll be narrowing it down until the start of April.
We don't agree on a lot but good write up. Michael Oher at Right Tackle? That could be something that bears watching.
Boomer, do you think it would be possible to write a column on any UDFA types we could be looking at right after the draft? For example you mentioned the ILB from out West, is there a type of player they look for in UDFA types?
Thanks. Always think about whether any left tackle can switch to the opposite side. Even if you have a bookend stud on the left side, don't think a team will avoid picking another one and plant him on the right.
Nice work Boom! When it comes to draft info you're one of the best as far as I'm concerned and I'm gonna love reading what you have in mind over the next few months. Kudos dude
Thank You. Really enjoyed reading this. I have missed seeing you post mostly because I have not joined the Club Level. Hope to join it soon. Thanks again.
Good stuff as usual. Thanks for taking the time, and congrats on the new arrangement. One piece of advice (which I mentioned in the first week's blog): Take the high-road with any comments from those who are jealous, bitter and/or immature, and resist the urge to rip them. Looking forward to more updates!
Just read the second one. Wow. Great stuff. They should put your blog on the main Dolphins page as one of the featured articles. It was a million times better than the article by Wire Reports. Senior Bowl: W. Virginia's White shows off QB skills for South http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/other/sfl-flspseniorbowlspec25sbjan25,0,852436.story
Fantastic stuff Simon. Its an honor to be able to chat with you on here. Not many times do we get a chance like this.
No question Boomer knows his stuff. I'd be all on board for Oher at #25 because value is important and I do not think you can do much better. There is no question in my mind that Oher could become an very good player in this league. Your analysis is spot on in both of your post. Larry English is without question the guy who I have developed a man crush on. This guy screams Outside Linebacker in the Dolphins defense to me. Boomer, Why are people so low on Sen'Derrick Marks? I have seen him lasting to the 3rd round in some people's views. If this guy is available at #57 we should be all over it.
GARDENHEAD, While Gholston had a terrible rookie season I wouldn;t write him off just yet. The Jets hired the best defensive mind in the game IMO and he is going to attract a lot of attention from the new coaching staff. I think that he could be very effective as an outside Linebacker iN Rex Ryan's system. don't consider a guy a bust after one season. Let's be careful on Gholston this soon.
1. Deeming Gholston's rookie season as "terrible" is an understatement. 2. Other than that, I actually agree with you, but its too much fun too criticize the jet's draft picks. I can't help myself.
Boom, as per your senior bowl report, in the comments you talked about a possibility of James Butler. Now as a ACC guy, and fellow FSU fan, i was very big on him coming out of college and thought his potential was very good. He has played to his potential thus far in his career. With that being said, is he actually a FA? i hadnt heard of that?
Thank you for this write up. I got to there and had to comment. If this happens I'm going to scream from the rooftops.
Always excellent work Boom. I look forward to this time of the year just to peek inside your thoughts.
