How many other teams had 58 sacks?

Since you care about the rest of the league and their opinion why don't you go hang out with their boards.

No one is happy about the value at the pick (until we see something on the field). It's spilled milk and we had the worst offensive line in history. jesus.

Yes. If their board held up. The only thing they screwed up was Ebron. Their board was clean.

Well, SD could use a tackle. As well Green Bay, Arizona, and KC maybe.

By taking James dolphins changed the boards so you'll never really know who would take who. Whining about not getting a trade is ridiculous if you can't get someone to trade with. Its not a one way street. Value is surely irrelevant when half these players are gonna flush out. Take the player you want who makes you better. Too much sofa GM'ing, too many people who believe they have it all laid out when the millions we spend on scouts etc clearly have nothing. Watching college gameday and YouTube doesn't qualify you for this job. No surprise to see LB moaning. Must be Thursday...

Well, when you go back there my man, please let us know what they say about why they chose to do something so incredibly nonsensical. That would be much appreciated.

Again, when your QB was sacked more than any other QB in the league and your running game was pretty much nonexistent, I thought an Olineman wouldn't be the biggest surprise, but yeah man, please let us know.

Our line better be stellar this year.

For better or worse, (barring significant injuries) we should know what we have in Tannehill & Philbin by the end of this year, without question.

    They panicked.

Reached for need when they could have gotten him later, likely throwing away extra picks in a historically deep draft.

    Not encouraging.

To the title of the thread, Ireland didn't draft need taking Jordan last year and giving up a second as well. Also, isn't it a common criticism of Ireland that he never anticipated runs on a position and ended up trying to double up on positions later to make up for it?

So on one hand, I'm fine with him taking the highest person on their board in the position they wanted (obviously not just BPA overall). You pay people to evaluate a player otherwise we could just go off Kipers best available. It does seem like we could have traded down though, and I was hoping for it in the draft thread as it looked to be shaping up perfectly to do so. Let's hope the OL gets fixed finally.

How can you say Ireland is a need drafter when it seems he's drafted every position but what we needed two years in a row. Ireland definitely would have drafted another position and then re-signed Clabo on a 2 year extension.

We took James, we changed the board. Just cos none were taken doesn't mean none would have been. We don't draft in a vacuum.

Hard to disagree with you Muck, but have to here. Long arms, 4 year starter at right tackle. I thought he was a sleeper.

    That's his usual posting style.

His post just seemed like when a little kid tries to talk like an adult and you just laugh at them. Like this type of stuff is just so above his head that you don't expect a comment like that.

You seriously believe someone else would have drafted James? Be real dude. whatever.. No point in complaining more. Just wanted to let out some steam. Don't get me wrong, I liked James. But Clinton Dix, Cooks, Calvin Pryor, even Marqise Lee > James at round 1

After reading CKs analysis of James...Im psyched about this pick. Looks to me like Ryans got his left and right sides well protected. Obviously Hickey had conviction on a player at a position we HAD TO HAVE. You dont get cute..take the player.

It means someone perhaps panicked , got nervous , or was pressured , over ruled by oh say a head coach?

I've said it many times. I was thrilled about us taking dion Jordan last season...but hindsight (so far) shows lane should've been the pick. That was us being cute. This is us just taking the player

But everything around it is nothing but assumptions right now. We got a very good RT with alot of upside..to go with a pro bowl left tackle and pro bowl center. Oline is now a strength again.

Yeah man. It's not like the leagues most sacked QB, one who needs time to get it to his awesome deep threat, on a team with an abysmal running game needed any more OL help. Pssh.
