8 teams looked at him, we are in the Final 4, opinions vary a bit on him as his physical talent is immense, he is raw as a technical Wr.
Hope we land him as some folks who study players really like his skillset.

we were also looking into chad owens (Toronto Argonauts’ WR/KR) but he looks to be going to the jets

Almost looks like a poor man's Brandon Marshall. Not very fast, but a big guy. Possession Receiver. What Patrick Turner should have been.

Watched plenty of Manny A in the CFL, his hands are inconsistent, but when he does catch the ball he can make things happen, does well on end arounds and as my sigpic suggests, he has some hops. -
He runs a 4.4? Sign him up.

Only other thing I notice is that his cuts aren't very good. Every field I saw in the video was artificial turf. You should be breaking ankles on that surface, yet more times than not he was brought down pretty easily. -
Where is Rickysbong he knows the CFL guys pretty well. I want to know can he return kicks and punts?

Besides, if we want to be like the Bills, then lets do what they're doing. If we don't wanna be like the Bills, let's try something different. I'm thinking we bring in Santonio Holmes, Brad Smith, James/Jacoby Jones, Early Doucet, proven guys who can step in and make plays. We already have two developmental guys on the roster and they both need a lot more work. Do we really want another build from scratch WR? I hope not.ToddsPhins likes this. -
IMO if we want to improve the passing game, we need to stop digging thru garbage dumps, bite the bullet, and spend some $ on guys who can play NOW, not 3 years from now.Hellion likes this. -
Also, last year, Henne did suck. -
Blame Henne all you want. But I see that Henning was on the first bus outta Davie. And Ross wasn't flying out to Cali to meet with a new QB, was he? Our problems go way past "Henne sucks".ToddsPhins likes this. -

Manny, to my mind GM went to professional football player JUCO, he has a nice size/speed combination and he makes plays, with no UDFA process this Draft landing Manny A would be an early start on our Draft.
Some feel he would be a high draft pick as in a #2 or #3, some feel he should be treated like a Wr from one of the smaller western NCAA conferences, showed lots of promise but would be a #5 or #6 pick in the draft if he were coming out this yr.GMJohnson likes this. -

I am not blamming Henne for all the problems, however he did suck. You want to make this into a personal thing about Henne, that is your decision. He did not play well and made bad decisions.
If Henne played like a good quarterback Henning still has a job and Ross doesn't make a trip. Good quarterback play would have at least kept the offense decent. -

He looks more like a project worth considering. But, hard to know what to think, long term. It also says on that link that he had a tryout with both the Dolphins and the Jets in December but neither signed him. Any info on that? -
BTW GM, my browser does not show Youtube vids in posts...
And "if" you are not happy with Marlon Moore, though I am, wouldn't it make sense to go after a more developed Wr like Manny A? We only have so many draft choices and they will have to be coached up, Manny A has two yrs of pro experience over anyone we can draft and he frees draft picks for other areas.
As Sparano said in 09 in re Cam Wake "sometimes you get these CFL players and it's like they have been in Community College and are more developed than someone in the draft" -

As for the 40 times, Ck straightened me out on that one, 4.50 was the highest of the 40's he ran if he pops in he can explain it as a 4.50 and 4.67 is a huge disparity, but he was a track man in college so he is much faster than a 4.67. -
That is a HUGE stretch and horrible use of logic. I do not think a QB can "play well" regardless of who he's playing with or against. However I also do not think I need to make the entire offense look worse than what it was to make the QB not look like he played horrible. I do think quarterbacks could have some pocket awareness, make good decisions and have good ball placement, which Henne showed a huge problem with. Did not watch a good quarterback struggle with a bad offense. I saw a poor quarterback holding the offense back. He does have some positives that can improve, I am not for dumping him, however I am not going to put blinders on and create a situation where the offense is worse than it was to make the QB look good. -

As for Moore, agree to disagree. Neither he nor Wallace are NFL ready WRs . They only played b/c of injury and how bad our other WRs are. There are ALOT of things to think about as a WR. Where to lineup, snap count, play call, route, is it zone or man, is it 2 or 3, is the DB outside or inside, is he at 4 yds or 8, is he squatting or bailing, where/when do I stem, where/when do I break my route off? If those things aren't coming to you naturally, instinctively, then trust me, its a lot harder to "catch the ball" than you might think. Bess was an exception b/c he knew all about coverages and route concepts before he ever hit the NFL, his quickness and COD ability makes him an natural in the slot, where he faces LBs and Nickel guys. Playing flanker or split end is a whole different animal.
IMO, you have wildly inflated expectations of what young developmental players should be able to do vs established NFL vets and high draft picks. -
Yonus Davis is Stefan Logan jr, though he maybe is a better running back than Logan.
I'd think we both would agree that Manny A is a big play waiting to happen, he is also a dropped ball waiting to happen. -
The play in Cincinnati was LOL funny. Ran out of bounds, came back in, dropped a perfect ball, in the end zone. Pure suckage. Don't think he saw the field for a looong time after that. -

No Wr has left the CFL for the NFL and has had much of an impact, way back when Terry Grier won both a Grey Cup and a SB, so in a way Manny A is plowing new ground for CFL Wr's.
Enjoyed watching Manny A when they needed a huge play during their improbable playoff push he was "the guy".
As for if he can make the jump, put SS24 on him in TC and see what he can do, I suspect he'll do fine, but I've been wrong before..ya know? -
I really hate the running start for wr's in the CFL. To me thats a massive adjustment going to the NFL.
-
Interesting though, both Wake and Manny play on the edge, not in the pits of the lines, which makes their attempts more about speed and quickness than power and size. -
