Oh I agree rules are enforced inconsistently. Heck, the replay was the only reason that one was even enforced.
I think that was the best possible outcome- we won the game and then the refs gave it to the Jets on the BS pass interference NON-CALL. I saw them do that in a game last week as well and was puzzled....how do you not throw a flag, then decide just before the next snap you want to review it? If they're not sure, throw the flag and then review. But don't just randomly make something up on a play that decides the entire game. I do agree that it was PI but then again, there's PI of that level on every single play these days. The refs just need to be consistent. With that said, Fitz had a pretty good day with nobody to throw to....I really enjoyed watching him out-rushing the Jets RB's in the first half. I'll admit that it is fun this season hoping for a win but happy with a loss, and I think it has a bunch of no-name players being fearless on the field. Hopefully some of these guys get a job next year due to this season.
Quite a few obvious no pass interference calls in the Pats/Chiefs game and not a single one has been reviewed.
I still think it's garbage. When you slow it down, it looks way worse than at regular speed. I still think that he didn't turn him until the ball was there, which is legal. I'm not sure I like being able to challenge non-calls on stuff like holding or pass interference. Also the refs did give the Pats that absolute BS offensive pass interference call on Kelce.
I'll tell ya what, with that new rule that PI non-calls can be reviewed and reversed, I'd be throwing a whole lot more downfield passes. That's yet another rule change that makes this more of a passing league.
Here's the thing- show me a contested pass in the NFL this season where there wasn't pass interference...there's almost ALWAYS contact. They let hand checks slide these days more often than not, and then we have plays like today when our receiver was grabbed by the helmet with the ball in the air- and no flag. We now know that we have no idea what a "catch" is and now we have no idea what "pass interference" is either...and now the refs don't even have to know. They can just stand on the sidelines, never call anything and wait for the league to tell them when to review something. I absolutely hate it with a passion...and you're 100% right. We should throw the bomb to Parker every single down.
