Just like everyone else I know (here at thePhins), when is Cameron Wake going to get more playing time?

Wake is still raw as a OLB, I do think he should see more field time as a Nickel DE, but as an OLB?
Not with Roth getting back into game shape.dolfan7171 likes this. -

Wake and Starks had the only sacks of the game, I believe...and those might have been the only real pressures on Brady as well, from what I saw.
I think Wake needs to see the field more, and Roth needs to get back on the horse; gradually, but surely. It's the only thing to do with Crowder out and Ayodele being invisible and all, and Porter laying down for a rookie Tackle all game long against the Pats.Bpk and dolfan7171 like this. -
snoochie boochies (420) this regime could not make it any more clearer that they don't care what we think. That said, yes we can...

since we're 3-5 i think we need to keep unleashing the youth and getting them valuable experience. dont give up on the season but lets see what these kids can do. wake has to get more snaps. we have to see whether we can count on him for sacks next year. if not we have to draft a olb in the 1st round. if he can potentially produce 12 to 15 we can draft a ilb or wr in the 1st
pat turner should get a shot before the season is over, honestly at this point the passing game is so mangled i dont think it matters. also you need to try to get ginn back on track. get hartline on the number two corners and off the number ones. number one corners are eating up hartline. he simply isnt athletic enough to beat them
keep clemons playing as saftey and play more haynos than fasano. personally i would like to see porter replace ayodele but i doubt i will see that
keep incorporating pat white and maybe even thigpen into the wildcat/ spread option formations -
I love Wake as much as the next guy...bur right now, he is a speed pass rusher, thats it. If that man is in the game, he is there to do one thing and one thing only.
I don't think he will be used differently this year. He might get more snaps, but overall, his time as a OLB will be extremely limited.dolfan7171 likes this. -

Wake does need to see more time, especially on passing downs. He's worked hard, played very well on special teams and made the most of his limited opportunities when drawing into the D lineup.
We may even see more of his explosiveness this upcomming week. where were facing a inexperienced scrambling style qb. That quick pass rush could be a good thing to have.Bpk and dolfan7171 like this. -
Josh Freeman is a mammoth Qb, Wake has that submarining style, this should be great fun to see...assuming Sparano unleashes Cameron Wake to rush the passer. The Aqua Crush and dolfan7171 like this. -
What would be the cap hit to cut Porter?
Probably sounds a bit over the top to some, but really, what use is Porter right now anyway?dolfan7171 likes this. -
Primary SLB should be Roth if he's up to the challenge. Then rotate Wake, Porter, and JT with equal time on the WLB side, or SLB on passing downs.
I'm hoping we're just waiting for Roth to be up to speed 100% in terms of the packages. Because if we don't see him within a week or two, I'm not sure what our plans are for the entire LB corps.dolfan7171 likes this. -
need to play him more
he is our future sack master
Wake is the real deal
