More depressing offseason news.

Not unexpected, but depressing either way.

Can't help but agree, I wouldn't have minded bringing him back to be in the #3 role on a cheap 1 year deal, but if he want's to be the primary power back in a time share, then we have to move on and find somebody that can be trusted.

 

I will never forget Week 1.

 

I always liked his ability and competitiveness, but damn, unfortunately he's injury prone and that probably wont change.

 

As the saying goes....Next man up...Thing is I think not re-upping with Moreno is going to come back to bite us in the ***. He's a good back when he's healthy and with the way life as a Dolphin fan goes, moves like this come back to haunt us. Until I see a viable replacement for him I am going to believe that this is a big mistake we are making.

 

I'll wait til I hear it from the proper sources..call it denial.

 

He really can't be counted on. We need someone who is likely to be more durable. Can't help us if he's not on the field.

 

The guy played one game for us... I rather go down the Frank Gore route instead of re-signing this injury prone guy. If he is willing to re-sign a super cheap one year deal to be our #3 RB, im all for it.

If he could have stayed healthy I really think we had something, I mean he just took that game over but it was just one game........and his history says he will get hurt again. Too bad, he's a real talent that plays with a lot of fire and runs angry when he's in the lineup.

 

This feels like a mistake.

 

If we could Sign him to a performance contract it would be logical to re-sign him.Unfortunate the NFLPA obliges a team to pay him whether he is injured or not.

Game over.We need a stud RB who can play the whole season.

 

Unfortunately, I get this bad feeling he signs elsewhere and has a year we wanted in '14.

 

Mark Ingram come on down.

 

He's a 2nd round pick at the least. No thank you. There are plenty of other options later in the draft.

 

If Moreno would sign for veteran minimum with performance incentives that could double his contract if achieved, I'd hope we'd do it.

He's my #1 realistic option too.

 

Before the 2011 draft, I rated Pouncey and Wis about equal as center prospects. We drafted Pouncey mid 1st and the Raiders drafted Wis in mid 2nd. Either one team tremendously reached, or one team got a great bargain based on how I personally saw them. Just one old man's opinion.

 

Have Ross bribe the NFL, the NCAA, and the Georgia Bulldogs to somehow allow us to go ahead and draft Nick Chubb.

He looks like a future NFL Superstar to me.

 

It sounds like there isn't much awareness here of the fact that Lamar Miller is becoming one of the best running backs in the NFL.

 

They won't make an effort to resign the guy on the cheap?

Is Daniel Thomas still on the team? I'd much prefer to keep Moreno (busted leg} and all to an 100% Thomas.

There's not much awareness of it bc it's not true. Not even close.

 

Statistically, Mark Ingram had a decent year; esp., given his injuries. But he is just not really dynamic. I had him on my fantasy team, and since I live in Saints country, they were always on local stations and I paid attention to him.

I think the Saints were almost obligated to make good on that first-round draft status, and also the fact that Drew Brees is declining just a bit, they tried to run more but just weren't built that way up front, so Ingram sometimes looked like he may have lacked some vision.

My issues with him are that he is slow, easily taken down, and while thier O-line is not the best, he just didn't seem like he had the athleticism to get out of sticky situations. I will give him one thing, he does score, but I wonder if this was due to the Saints having a guy like Jimmy Graham rather than Ingram's abilities.

I get the feeling that he wants to get paid, and personally, he is just not worth it.

I am kind of wondering about Adrian Peterson or DeMarco Murray and how that all plays out.

our D williams played well for a rookie in the last part of the year, kid is a very good option catching passes out of the backfield, hungry player as well, played with a lot of confidence for a rookie, usually a good sign that he knows he belongs and will get better..

there are plenty of good backs in this draft to have help miller and round out a formidable unit..like Josh robinson from miss state..that boy is a bad mother grabber...Mike Davis if he's dedicated to his craft..ameer abdullah...we can get a player with high upside.

 

I agree w/ you on Williams, really like what I saw from him. To compliment the two of them I really want a back w/ some power, like we got from Knowshon.

 

Ingram isn't a big play guy, that's OK because we have Miller. What we need is a guy who can run hard, break tackles, wear people down, etc. Ingram can do that, he seems to play better as he gets more carries. He's only 24-25, coming from Nawlins he's we'll versed in the pass/pass pro/screen game and he has minimal wear and tear. If the price is reasonable I'd rather I with him than role the dice on a rook.

With Ingram and Miller we can run 30-35 times per game, which is exactly what we need to do. Take the pressure off Tannehill, create more play action and down field opps for Wallace, bring back the up tempo, take the offense to a whole different level. Week 1 vs NE last year is the model...

 

I can promise you, Mark Ingram is not one to break any kind of tackle with any frequency. He is just not good at it. Lamar Miller is bigger than Ingram, for that matter.

He is pretty good in the Red Zone, I will give him that, but not without issue in that areas as well. I can remember the game against Carolina where he couldn't pound it in from the 1-yard line on two chances. The Saints finally threw it for the TD. What may benefit him in the Red Zone is that he is very small, so he gets lost in the fray. But he is not one to 'pound it in there' because he just lacks the power and that leg drive.

Are you willing to pay big money for a guy who doesn't really anything well? He is going to want to get paid.

You also mentioned that he gets better with carries. I do not think this is really the case with a journeyman's 3.7 ypc through rushes 21-30. When we had Ronnie Brown, his ypc increased as the game wore on. THAT is the type of back this team needs.

If Moreno could come back, I would take him all day. I would like Miami to make a run at one of these bigger feature backs or draft a big back with hustle. This team can win with that one missing piece, IMO, moreso than any other position in thier current setup.

If Miami signs Ingram, I will be very, very disappointed.

 

Wow. Really? I'll admit Ingram isn't a top tier back but you don't like the Ingram-Miller combo for us?

I may have misunderstood you but did you just call Mark Ingram a journeyman when he has only played on one team his whole career thus far?
