I think our wide receivers are definitely better than the Jets'. Plus our QB is way better than whoever they will put out there. Their passing game might be atrocious this year.

Just out of curiosity, can you name a receiver on the Dolphins who's had a 1,000 Yd receiving campaign in his career?
Besides, we all know the Jets have at least one more FA signing up their sleeves... But for now, Cotchery >>>>> Any Dolphins receiver and you know it...124 likes this. -
And who's out there in FA that could make an immediate impact?Frumundah Finnatic likes this. -
cause we all know 1000 yard campaigns define a team success  -
And Jones (the so far under achieving) quality receiver...
I wouldn't rule out trade possibilities either. Nothing has happened with Boldin yet, Edwards wants to stay in Cleveland supposedly but anything can happen... -
I don't think the Jets can afford Boldin. Im not sure what their cap looks like, so I could be mistaken though.

AGAW, you act as If you have a QB to throw to your "1000" yard receivers.

Ginn is obviously overrated by Dolphins fans, I understand, it comes with the territory...
But until he does anything even remotely fantastic in this league, take him off the pedestal...
He's an average receiver right now with 'potential'
Nothing more... -

Lets let it play out on the field folks, how can you argue with a fan whose team/fans can't even spell their team's name?
Still waiting on an answer to that question on how the Jets gold game went while we were in the playoffs. Let's keep it fun folks, keep it fun, poor guy can't help it being a Jets fan, think how terrible that must really feel? -
The guy couldn't do sh!t... D and specials put up 17, Brien put up the other 3...
Pats in 06 was abysmal as well... And we all know what happened last year...
We hated him (when he was on our team) for a reason... Had nothing to do with how 'accurate' he was... -
Just out of curiosity, can you name a receiver on the jets who's had a 7 receiving TD campaing in his career? -

In 2004, great game against SD, bad game against Pitt.
In 2006, solid game against NE.
So, 2 great games against 2 bad games with one solid game thrown in there.
I just wanna point this out, listen to yourself talking sir. You say he had a "good" game against SD, when it was actually great because he threw 2 Tds, 0 Ints, and had a 115.6 passer rating. How is that good? It's amazing. You also ignored his first ever playoff game where he torched the Colts. -
1) Ted Ginn should be in the Pro Bowl discussion this year
2) Marvin Harrison is still available too, though many doubt if there's tread left on his tires
3) Clowney is a big-play guy. I've been surprised he hasn;t really clicked yet. He could be a real sleeper success this season if the QB situation settles in New York. I can see Clowney having a 2006 Marques Colston type season. -

Cotchery is a no.3 WR at best.
-
the WR corp is too young to grade & the most difficult to predict
6 out of 53 will make it
GinnJr, Bess, Turner, Camarillo (injured), Armstrong, B.Marion (r-injured)
Hartline, C. Williams & London all in the mix lot of potential & a lot of questions
have to wait until August for the tires to meet the road -
I'll continue to take Cotchery over anyone on Miami's roster. Yes, even over the amazing Ted Ginn.
Just as you have high hopes for Davone Bess to fill in as your #2, we have high hopes for David Clowney. When it comes to the slot, Chansi Stuckey and Greg Camarillo are fairly even. Camarillo and Stuckey both have one season of OK ball underneath their belts.
Both our receiving cores are full with young, unproven players with a lot of potential in each of their games (Ginn, Bess, Camarillo, Turner) and (Clowney, Smith, Stuckey, Wright). There is only one proven player and that man is Jerricho Cotchery.
They are two of the weakest units in the league, on paper.
I however feel both the Dolphins & Jets receivers will break out big this season. For the Jets I think it will be Stuckey & Clowney while the Dolphins will see Davone Bess break out big and Camarillo will continue a strong rapport with Pennington. Chad looks to him a lot in bigger situations (at least thats what I saw in the first 11 games), much like he did with Wayne Chrebet here at the beginning of Chad's career with the Jets. -
#3 Receiver at best? I would hope that nobody would echo this ridiculous statement. Jerricho Cotchery comes down with amazing grabs and is great at breaking tackles. He is no star but he is certainly a very, very good #2 receiver. He is very reliable.
As a #2 receiver without a true #1 along him (Coles hasn't been a #1 in about 4 years) and Quarterback problems he has put up 961, 1130 and 861 yards. He is a #2 for sure, not a #1 by any means but we are hoping one of the young guys can step up and ease things for him this season, as well as Dustin Keller who is more of a receiver than a Tight End. -
If Chris Chambers was considered our last "recognized" number one, then the bar hasn't been set far from Ginn's reach.
In fact, ever since Marino, has it even mattered?
Its been less a case of "Who's our number one", and more simply, "Who can catch the ball?" -
Camarillo, Turner, London, Hartline, etc. will battle for the #2 slot.
And ideally in the future our #1 and #2 should be Turner and Ginn or vice versa and our slot/#3 will be Bess. I think we'll try to make Bess what New England made Welker.
