– Sparano said the rehabs of Channing Crowder (Lisfranc) and Patrick Cobbs (ACL) have been “super so far.” Crowder is slowly working his way back to being able to complete an entire practice, while Cobbs “has really had no restrictions,” Sparano said.

– Sparano on the possibility of the signing Rams free agent safety O.J. Atogwe: “I’m just happy with the guys that we have out here right now. Really am.”

– Sparano said the new defense under Mike Nolan is almost completely installed, and Sparano notices his players feeling more comfortable with the plays. “You can see us playing a little faster,” he said. “The mental errors at the start of camp to where we are now, it’s not even close.”

– One aspect about Nolan’s defense is the Dolphins will try to score a touchdown every time they make a turnover, which means the possibility of more laterals and high-risk plays. “We’ll see how it carries over into games and whether or not I’m fired up about it,” Sparano said.

– The Dolphins have three more practices before having six weeks of vacation (the first day of training camp will be July 30), and Sparano said he is going to give a speech to his players about not getting in trouble. The issue is especially pertinent given the team’s four arrests this offseason. “It’s something I do every year,” Sparano said. “I’ll certainly address them on any of those issues and make sure that when we send them on their way, that the message is very clear.”

That Nolan "try to score a TD on every turnover" stuff will have Sparano fired up...until the first lateral is fumbled and the Defense turns the ball back over..
