Theyre not going to do anything to Ireland. Maybe a brief talking to. Ross is just saying all the right things to make people happy.

What is there to talk about? Ireland apologized and all of this will be forgotten soon enough.

Apologizing does not absolve you of inappropriate behavior.
Ignoring the issue when this person's interaction with other people affects the entire organization would be highly irresponsible for anyone that person reports to including ownership. I hope it this not simply about controlling fires and more about eliminating these types of unprofessional behaviors from all levels of management. If you ever worked for a poorly run company you'll usually find that the reasons for it start at the top.OCDolfan likes this. -
Wouldn't be the first time the media blows a story all out of proportion.
We have no idea how this question was presented by Ireland at all. -
Who knows it could have went down this way :) unless there was a tape recorder we will never really actually know for a fact what happened, but i doubt there was. I totally agree with you Coral Reefer. If there was more witnesses there I would be against it, but right now its one man's word and an apology by Ireland. -
As a fan I want to win Superbowls but I also want to root for a classy organization too.DolfanJake likes this. -
All of this is just so much BS IMVHO, now lets just play some FB!! -
I'll stay focused on the fire, not the smoke. Right now that fire is ownership investigating the actions of its GM.
And every organization goes through phases of less than ideal behavior as owners and managers come and go. It is not always going result in the smell of roses but that does not prevent me from wishing it were so. I have to accept that there are going to be actions from people involved in an organization that I will not approve of. But it is just sports, something easily left behind if it came to that. -
With all due respect if Dez Bryant had not opened his mouth to a reporter and that same reporter not reported it via Yahoo no one would even know what question had been asked. So the media issue is very much on point. To suggest that one should quit watching TV when TV was never stated is a reach and I agree has nothing to do with this subject but I was not the person who brought TV into this, please remember!
As to Don and Dan's treatment, point taken! Never the less I stand by my statement that this is just so much BS and want to get on with the program.
Also if we are to be judge and jury against Jeff Ireland then we must also hold accountable any and all offending questions to all incoming players so my statement on Mr. Gerahart also is approiate imho and thus is very much on topic.SeanP and DolfanJake like this. -
Jeff Ireland found out exactly what he wanted to about Dez Bryant. That he can be affected by words, and have it affect his persona and his play.
I really don't care how he goes about that short of physical torture. He called his shot, took it, and for all intents and purposes is being proven right as we speak in the media.
Bryant knew that this would get out. To think that he didn't is just something foolish. He wanted revenge, and at the end of the day the only person who really is going to have backlash from this is Dez Bryant for however long he remains in the NFL.gafinfan and MikeHoncho like this. -
he may own the business but this is Parcells business
ask Jerry about putting your nose in Parcells' business
doubt if Ross will have anything negative to say or do
just not good for business:no:gafinfan likes this. -
There is some disconnect here because I do not believe how Dez Bryant handled himself is important. The gist for this issue is not the specific question asked of him, but whether it was appropriate to ask at all. From my perspective the answer is a resounding no, it was not appropriate. I believe ownership agreed and decided to review the behavior of the General Manager for the reasons given by Mr Ross. I take his comments as something a fan of the Dolphins should take pride in.
Toby Gerhart issue, not sure what this has to do with the Dolphins. Did I miss something about his relationship with our team? Not trying to be dense here I just don't know. -
