Dolphins’ pass defense holds the key to avoiding 0-3

That's such a tough start to our season, Atlanta, Indy, and then San Diego... jeez. Its definitely going to test this team right out of the gate, there's no doubt about that.

I for one, LOVE that were not goign to have a whack of games at the end of the year where were going to be stuck in cold weather climates.

Yeah, let's take the optimistic look too: If we go 1-1 or even 2-0 how exciting will that be? By week 4 we'll have a good idea of how things are going to go potentially. The schedule never lets up but we can't afford to go 0-3! Let's hope for a great draft and a possible addition such as JT or elsewhere; we're still a couple players away on O and D. If we can start out strong though, 2-1 or even 3-0, we'd put some fear into some people which would help us too! 8-8 or 9-7 would be a good season but I'm looking for something better!

i agree the phins have to come out of the gates strong....

Better to face tough teams like that early in the year, before possible injuries are a factor and before the players are worn down a bit.

Ive been saying it all along, if the phins can win enough games to get into the playoffs with the schedule we have this year, then i have no doubts that we can go all the way and win it all no matter what seed we are.

Just my own thoughts:
For some, the prevailing thought is that the Dolphins will "take a step back". Why not view the Falcons in the same way? In other words, if it's possible that we will take a step back, then the same holds true for ATL.
I believe we will beat the Colts, period.
1. We're at home early against a team who plays in an air conditioned dome.
2. The Colts have typically struggled against 3/4 defenses.
3. Their OL is undersized. Our D is big and powerful and should overrun their OL.
On the offensive side; we ought to be able to run the ball and the Colts can't stop the run.
San Diego has............Norv Turner!! That should say it all.

Regarding the article on Linebackers... I am a recent convert to the Frantz Joseph camp.

all 3 of those games are winnable ... the biggest challenges of the 3 are ATL - because its the 1st game, and we will likely be starting a rookie corner and maybe a rookie ILB or OLB. INDY - some of the same concerns -- just not nearly as much. SD - we beat them last year ... but their defense will be improved with Merriman returning.

i could easily see us 2-1 (lose to ATL and beat INDY & SD).

It's way too early to get caught up in trying to predict what will happen in Week 1 of the regular season, much less the first three games.

Teams change from year to year, so there's no guarantee that those first 3 games will be as tough as everyone is envisioning.

Remember that the Steelers supposedly had the toughest schedule in the league last year...and all they did was go onto win the Super Bowl.

I doubt anyone will be looking at us on their schedule and crossing it off as a W this year. We're not an anemic team anymore.
