EDIT: I see what GISH is saying now, if New England doesn't win one game then we'd win the East. -

There is very little chance of being anything other than the #6 seed simply because it requires Buffalo to win at New England when the Patriots are playing for either the division title, or a first round bye. Unlikely.

Crazy our loses to BAL, NE, and BUF were all so close for our 3 AFC Conf loses. -

i didn't check yet which games would count for the common games records, since its a moot point anyways, because the freakin pats beat cleveland, but still it would be interesting to find out, if this game really could have won us the Division Title....still assuming we win our last 2 games of course...lol -
But none of this matters.... -
Now, yes, if not for the CLE PI call, it could have made this week vs BAL the deciding factor - and a loss to BAL would have forced it to fall to 4th tie-breaker = Conf record.
But again, moot. -

Hmmm
In that NE vs Cleveland Giff....
You can actually see the Cleveland DB reach up and it does look like he holds on to the front collar of the receiver. If this slowed Boyce down at all....it was the correct PI call. He pulled his hand away...but...it doesnt mean he wasnt slowing him up before hand... -
I added links to each scenario to Yahoo's Playoff Scenario Generator that prove out each scenario.
-
I'd say the receiver never broke stride and it was outside his reach, thus uncatchable. -

There have been a lot of really big plays that have shaped the entire season for the Dolphins this year. Our record could vary from 2-12 to 12-2 based on the games that were decided by the final drive of the game.
Some 'what if's:
- If Tannehill doesn't fumble the ball away at the end of the Buffalo game, we're in with a win this week.
- If the refs called the penalty on the final kick in the Baltimore game, we're in with a win or a Baltimore loss this week.
- If Antonio Brown doesn't step out of bounds, we're forced to win out and hope baltimore loses twice and Pittsburgh loses a game.
- If we fail on 4th down against the Pats in week 15, the division is lost and we are forced to win out for a chance at the last seed

IMO the best thing that could happen this week is Balt barely beating the Pats and Buf experiencing an embarrassing loss. Buffalo might just play to save face after a humiliating loss and the Pats might play just soft enough for the upset to happen.
