Not a real terrible fall back position to have. Not the "exciting" name everyone wants but a damn good football coach.
Is there something out there that nobody has considered? Does Ross have an inkling on a guy who may be unexpectedly available after the playoffs? Is a guy like Andy Reid potentially in play if the Eagles flame out?
I think Ross is going to make a change at least with the HC. I think he is prepared to change more...in order to land one of the following: Harbaugh, Gruden, Cowher, and Jeff Fisher. I think he wants to keep Ireland and Nolan...and will make every effort to keep them. Harbaugh already said he would be ok with that....if Harbaugh signs elsewhere.....they will look at the last three..... He knows what its going to cost to land them....he wouldnt have started this if he didnt. He will try and land one of them that allows him to keep as much as he can as far as Ireland and Nolan...and at the lower end of the 6-8 million a year range they will be looking for.
The coach of Oregon. Basically created the "blur" offense which has Oregon averaging over 40 points per game and maybe will win a Nat'l championship next week
Personally, I have no problems with a college coach...but everyone would freak out with that one as being the next Spurrier....I have no idea what type of NFL coach Kelly could be.... Would LOVE to see the "blur" offense here.
Chip Kelley is going nowhere anytime soon. Oregon and Nike will do whatever to keep him there for now. Plus he has it made there. Taking a pro job would be a worse situation for him.
Jeff Fisher? Sign him up. Proven NFL coach. He's been competitive even when they've thrown crap his way (he's not the GM there)
Isnt Fisher living off the past?? Sincerely maybe someone can tell me what Fisher has done the past couple of years outside of that one superbowl appearence?
I would take Fisher. He is an instant upgrade over what we have. He consistently fields hardnosed, competitive football teams with lesser talent. He is not afraid to make the hard decisions, even if they are popular, and more times then not he makes the correct decision. I live in TN and have watched the Titans since they came here, if for nothing else, to keep up with the score for Miami games. I alway felt that they had a chance to win every game, didn't feel that way about this Phins. I think we could do alot worse the Fisher. Having said that, word around here is that Fisher will stay and Young will be traded/released.
