http://www.thephinsider.com/2014/8/2/5963659/dolphins-re-signing-qb-brock-jensen Guess Lobato's uber showing at the scrimmage wasn't enough to keep him around (that and Matt Moore being hurt).
Knew Philbin would realize he'd made the biggest mistake in his coaching career. #greatwhitehope Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk 4
I wonder if he'll end up getting cut after the 1st preseason game. Could be an opportunity to play since he knows the offense and Moore & Devlin are dinged. Gets to showcase himself, maybe for an entire half, and some other team picks him up after he's cut.
any news who we cut for Jensen ? i need my dolphins excel file up to date, Homepage hasn´t added Jensen yet
The first preseason game is going to be UGLY with those 2 scrubs QB'ing. Especially since I doubt we run the firsts for more then a series or 2. If they even run a 2nd series.
I'm interested to see what Jensen is like in a game situation. The talk about him was that he's not a good practice guy, so it will be good to see if he shows anything when it comes to an actual game, even if it is just a pre-season one.
Speaking of Pat White, he was on the Nick Swisher episode of "American Muscle" working on his arm strength with Mike Barwis. Barwis was the strength/conditioning coach at WV during Pat's great run. It was interesting to hear Pat talk about not understanding why the Dolphins drafted him and how depressed he got after the hit in Pittsburgh.

"Hi Brock? We are so sorry. That 'cut' last week was a result of an accounting error; then the press picked up the story. You know Dave in Accounting? Yeah well he's been fired; but if you'd like we could literally set him ablaze as an offering to you. Again, we are really really sorry and please don't hold this against us. We love you very much, kiddo."
I liked Brock, but in college he always seemed to have so much time in the pocket that it's hard to know how he'd do facing quicker pressure and having to make quicker decisions. My guess was that he was cut b/c he just wasn't playing fast enough. Some players take time to adjust and most can't. They seem to think that Brock is more likely to be in the latter category. Lobato seems to play quicker than Brock so I can see why they would have one that route after cutting Brock.
I think they just got cold feet, like they did with Shelley Smith at center and just like they did with the sudden decision to sign Daryn Colledge as a starter at left guard. No real patience shown. A guy coming from the FCS to the NFL is going to take a little time. That should've been expected. They didn't even give him a week before they went instead with a more prototypical 6'6" guy with a big arm (and long delivery) who went on to a 6 of 17 for a whopping 8 yards performance during the scrimmage. And then of course when Pat Devlin takes a minor injury, who are they phoning up? Brock Jensen. I don't sense a lot of commitment or confidence in a lot of the things they're doing. I sense a lot of waffling. The irony is that in the past the team has been way too slow to recognize mistakes, perhaps a little too patient. Sometimes that panned out. Too often it didn't. But the pendulum may have swung too far the other way, into indecision. We'll see.
I don't disagree with any of that. But in all fairness, I'm not a Hickey fan so I might be quicker than most to criticize.
