Really interesting read on some of the things Ted Ginn had to deal with growing up, including a learning disability.

I hope the young man has a breakout year. Good read, kinda gives you some better perspective maybe on what Cam said and felt about the kid.

Not to make excuses for him or anyone else, but a lot of times when a player doesn't immediately make the impact a fan expects from him, they are quick to label him as a 'bust'. People are very quick to judge at times, myself included. Getting to know some of the more personal things these players have gone through kind of gives you a new found respect I guess.

I really hope Ginn can have a great year this season, he did show flashes last season, and the way Sparano is talking about him, 3rd time maybe the charm for Ginn.

Never been a Ginn fan, but what I have read the last 3 weeks has made me excited.

This will be his breakout year. 1,200 yards here we come:up:

I'm not a big fan of his either, but I sure hope he come out and just kicks some butt this year.

I want to punch 75% of the people that left comments on that article....

Ginn can't catch? Ginn always plays scared? Ginn was a 3rd/4th round prospect at best?

They need to start implementing an IQ test to post comments there... like maybe "is the sky blue?" or something. Half those guys would probably fail...

makes for a nice read but I'm only concerned with what he does on the field
I think he's on track. takes most WR's three years to hit their stride.
would like to see him returning the ball more; good field position is 40% of an offensive drive.
I'm sure he'll shine in 2009, if not they'll be shopping him in 2010.

Deadspin.com makes people "audition" before they are approved to comment. It's kinda silly, but it weeds out alot of knuckleheads.

He's definitely not flipping burgers and he's in a lot better situation than he was a couple of years ago. If he has a breakout year, the people who were knocking him will be singing his praises. If the running game kicks in it will open up the passing attack and Ginn will have plenty of room.
