Jury's still out on the kid...instinct's and awareness, not seeing much flash in that dept so far.

Needs to work on his form tackling...and needs to live in the weight, and film room.

Seems like everyone in the secondary. Saw poor approaches in the Packers game and again in the Steelers game. Where is the aggression and flying to the ball that was evidenced in other games? Too often I saw guys taking it for granted a player was going down or just doing the arm push to help a tackle be made. Fly, hit, wrap-up.

 

I didn't know he led the team in tackles against the steeler's, wonder if he got credit for the tackle and forced fumble.

Talk about a game of inche's...man, we won that game.

 

Meh. The guy was 18 yds deep at that snap of the ball on the TD bomb to Wallace and he still wasn't even close to making a play. I guess Nolan shoulda lined him up 30 yds deep. Then he misses a routine tackle on the Hines Ward TD, hie best Bennie Sapp (who also missed Ward) impersonation I suppose. And to top it off he let Mewelde Moore run right by him on the last drive for a big catch to put Pitt in FG range. A banner performance, NOT.

In his defense, that was the first time he's had a bad game, and he did make a great play on the GL at the end. He's been a major upgrade over Wilson and a pleasant surprise back there. But he hasn't even come close to getting his hands on the ball or making a big hit all year. Being invisible is good enough for me, for this year at least, but at some point I'd like to see him make a play back there.

One of the first two games he had an int that was overturned after replay.

 

Clemons had 2 forced fumbles in the Pitt game.

also that would make 3 forced fumbles for the game as a team, the special teams one was excellent too.

 

There were 4 forced fumbles. Only 2 recoveries though. Ben had 3 fumbles, one caused by Bell and 2 by Clemons. Misi had the recovery. Then on that opening kickoff, Sanders fumbled, forced by Hilliard and Jones recovered.

 

I think he could end up being a pretty solid player for us for years to come.

 

IMO, Clemons is an average strong safety playing out of position at free safety.

Darren Sharper he ain’t.

 

I've always felt he's more suited for bulking up a little more and playing SS but many will disagree. The Steeler game (hit on Ben) is the perfect example IMO. He's rangy and very good downhill and laterally but as soon as he passes parallel he's a different player. He doesn't have the greatest nose for the ball when the play's behind him.

 

Like I said in another thread, Clemons need to stop hitting and start tackling.
