Dolphins search for consistency from Binns following knee injury

Though they were running stride-for-stride for the first 15 yards, wide receiver Armon Binns slipped past his defender and the ball fell directly into his outstretched arms in the right corner of the end zone. The 17-yard connection was quarterback Ryan Tannehill's only touchdown pass during the final minicamp scrimmage on Thursday.

"He has been productive on the practice field. Now, we've got to be able to sustain that over a period of time and continue to develop him as a receiver — but a lot of things to like about him," Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said. "Obviously [we like] the perseverance, the work ethic it takes to get back as fast as he did."

Now, though back at 100 percent, Binns is battling 6-foot-5 Stephen Williams for a spot on the roster.

Binns has also had to digest new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor's playbook, which features more motion, shifts and includes a faster tempo."Not lining up all the time and doing the same things that wide receivers usually do. Being able to come from the backfield, and move all the way to the inside in the slot, moving around motion a lot, just throw the defense off," said Wallace, who lined up as a fullback on Wednesday.

What are Binns' and Williams' 40 times? Just curious.

Binn's was 4.50 during the draft and I believe Williams runs a 4.42. That's some scary #s for Williams.

You came all this way from rehab, you better go out there in the game like a crazed dog now, I mean hungry as hell.
I saw him make a beautiful catch in one of OTA's vids..

We may not have a 'great' WR on the roster. As in, someone in the same league as a Calvin Johnson or a Larry Fitzgerald. Not even close. However, we really do have a pretty damn good GROUP of WRs. Binns is not a bad wideout, and he's competing just to make the team. We definitely don't really have any 'bums'. Give Tannehill time to throw, and we could give defenses some serious fits.

You know, I officially kinda like where this is headed.
