Probably because he isn't really a good player

 

At 3 mil for one season, that seems fair. Hopefully find his replacement in the draft.

 

he was a good run blocker for the Jags I know he was a DE but hes young and could blossom into a nice fit for this defense.

 

He's at least as good as Shelby.

 

It would be nice. Not that young, though. He'll be 27 in July. Started only 3 games his first three seasons with Jax, but I'm not certain of the circumstances there. 2013 was certainly his most productive season, with 6 sacks and 37 tackles.

I see that he was listed as a LB coming out of college, and had 14 sacks his final season at Clemson. Its interesting that he's seemingly transistioned into a run defending end in the NFL.

 

I would rather have Shelby, but this is a decent signing.

 

Lets see where the coaches want to play him. Could just be camp fodder.

 

Buddy is a jag fan. I asked about him: his response

"Horrible. All our fans use to laugh at him. Nicknamed "windmill" for the hilarious way he would wail his arms in the air aimlessly. Has zero bend to get around the corner. Can't bullrush at all. Physically he is gifted. Looks the part but just lacks the technical abilities to get it done. Nice guy tho. I hope he works out for you guys."

Eh, have to think Joseph liked him, one aspect to the Bengals rise is their ability to turn fmr busts into productive and cheap players for them, tbh 3 million on a one yr deal does not make much sense for a dice roll guy
