I think he is in for a workout. not signed- From the redskins who quit the team, great move regime.
Not an Ex Cowboy, Practice squad player.

Hmm, I thought I read he just worked out for the Titans?
He's a good prospect. -

ToddsPhins in 3..... 2...... 1...... lol.
At Clemson, he was a tough, decisive, dependable runner who ran bigger than his size would indicate and finished off runs fairly well. That, and he's a 1 cut guy so I could see where his style would be intriguing for Daboll's offense..... but I definitely wouldn't call him a power back who's gonna break a lot of tackles. Davis didn't excel in any one area but he was pretty solid overall.
He showed some real promise in Cleveland during the 09 preseason before he injured his shoulder...... but then he never seemed the same afterward. I honestly thought he was ready to retire. It almost seemed like he mentally lost the passion or desire for the game or competition (unless there was some trauma to the brain during his car accident). If Miami can rekindle that, then I think he can be serviceable. Heck, for a brief moment he was potentially looking like Jamal Lewis's heir apparent in Cleveland.unluckyluciano, Paul 13 and MrClean like this. -
PS: I have no idea if his pass blocking improved b/c that wasn't one of his strengths...... and his opportunities in the passing game were limited thanks to Spiller.

I'm sure there's some sort of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon involving Daboll's 2009 days as Cleveland's OC. He was there to see Davis's fleeting flash of promise, so I could see him endorsing this tire kicking.

Isn't he the guy that got injured when he practised without pads and a LB with pads hit him?
Yep, same guy. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4551033MikeHoncho, MrClean and PhiNomina like this. -
IIRC he actually quit (only to return) Clemson shortly before his junior season was set to begin. Then he had the incident in Cleveland, filed a grievance, and prompted an NFL investigation that led nowhere. The week that he was released from the Skins his twitter account said "Truth will come out. You have only heard one side of the story.". What the story was I have no idea. I think the dude is lost to the fact that he is irrelevant.
Leaning heavy on the fact that he quit Clemson (and I can't recall if it was Spiller or Davis) I have deemed this cat a headcase with a strong sense of entitlement. There have just been too many strange events in his football career with very little performance.unluckyluciano and MrClean like this. -
...But as a freshman and sophmore he was BETTER than CJ Spiller.

Folks, he is a practice squad running back, not our first rd draft pick, if he is wonky in Miami they will cut him loose, if he has his mind right he does offer upside.
If not, oh well, churn him on out the door. -

fmr Dolphin Jalen Parmalee worked out for KC as well, said he ran a 4.38. -
I always liked Davis. He's a good pickup for them.
-
so he was definitely signed to the practice squad? meaning we now have two backs (Grigsby as well) on the PS, which is odd. I would fully endorse signing Parmele to the 53 and having him as a backup running back, backup kick return guy. Always liked Parmele.

I really liked Davis at Clemson and thought he would make a better pro RB then Spiller.
