Well this is your opportunity to say "I told you so"... if you don't post your prediction in here, on who you think is going to be cut that would surprise mostly everyone, you can't pipe up when it happens and claim credit. It seemingly happens every year. Someone is released, a veteran, and it's a shocker... Some could say Richard Marshall is our shock this year but that's not really all that surprising if you think about the $ involved...

    Here's my SHOCKING prediction:

Marcus Thigpen. Yes he's the best we have as a return guy. But, he doesn't do anything else. Even though he's flashed at wide receiver at times, in the slot, he hasn't been getting regular reps there during preseason. Which is odd to me. We've tried numerous other return men this preseason. He doesn't do anything else on special teams, not a gunner on coverage teams I don't believe. And he's coming off a fairly inconsistent performance against the Bucs where he was directly responsible for one fumble and indirectly responsible for another (between he and Carroll, I reckon it was Thigpen who didn't warn Carroll the ball was landing in his vicinity). Add it all up and there's a good chance he gets the boot.

I'm not saying return guys are a dime a dozen, but maybe the coaches would like to get someone back there that can bring more to the team than just return kicks.

Daniel Thomas. Let Gray and Gillislee handle the back up role. Bring them along some what slowly, like let them have 7-10 plays a piece for the first few games to get their feet wet and just continue to bring them along.

That would definitely be a surprise since he was given $4 million guaranteed.

I'm gonna go with Pat Devlin. Not a big name but some folks think he's ready to be our #2. If we were to depend on that, we would be in the Clowney running.

I wish Daniel Thomas would get cut as well.

Didn't say it was. But it just doesn't make sense to cut him when you're going to pay him that much money.

Nobody important ! This team isn't really deep enough to play this game, but I'll play. Gillislee hits the practice squad and they keep Gray.

No surprises this year. Daniel Thomas stays...I like his running.
If any surprise I say delvin gets cut to make room for someone else.

I'm curious, what do you like? Is it his 3.5 ypc? or his 5 fumbles?

Well then nevermind. My thought process is if one of our O-line can do long snaps then Denney is expendable, but I had no idea he was extended.

Well he's no AP. I can't explain it but I just think he's a solid back and I don't see gray or gillislee being any better. IMO

Given most of our backup play has been extremely poor so far this preseason i really don't see any shock cuts; that said there are probably a few guys who would cause mild surprise who i think are on the bubble like Jelani Jenkins, Trusnik, Spitler, Vaughn Martin.

If i had to pick a real surprise it would be Lance Louis; i'm still hopeful he will make the starting RG spot his own but to be honest i don't think his recovery has been as good as we were hoping for, and with Jerry, Samuda, Garner all more versatile than him i think he may be in trouble.

John Denney will never get cut. Dude will play until he is 40 and roll right into an assistant special team coaching role.

Forgot to mention, not aimed at any poster directly, don't just state a name... that's the easy way and you only get half credit. Say WHY you think said shock will occur!!

Oh and Matt Moore... will not be cut this season. cutting him would cost money against the cap $1.5m to be exact. NOT going to happen.

Now then, Nate Garner on the hand, he is also signed a new deal this offseason, but we'd actually save $566,666 against the cap if we released him. He's been battling injuries. He was lined up today at left tackle. He is another shock candidate given the lack of depth along our offensive line. I could see it happening though. I've never been overly impressed with him. If he was THAT good, he'd be starting at right guard.

He's my second SHOCKING PREDICTION! :shifty:

I don't think there will be any surprises this round personally... as always, I'm here to rain on Paul's parade.

Next round? Chad Bumphis will be cut and CK will be on suicide watch. Book it.

I will be very surprised to see Vaughn Martin make the team. However, you never know. I want to see Francis make the team. It is hard to determine what the Dolphins will do, especially, Ireland, in terms of additions and subtractions on cut down day.

All 32 teams have a long snapping specialist now. Why would the Dolphins be any different? Seems to me like the last regular player to also be his team's long snapper was Bruce Matthews. The Raiders used Adam Treu who was their backup Center several years ago. Other than that it's all been specialists to my knowledge.

If we lose him, I will be none too happy about it.
I'd bet when we look back 10 yrs from now, Bumphis will have done more in the NFL than any of the other WRs currently on the roster not named Wallace, Gibson or Hartline.

Lance Louis and I hope this doesnt happen, but if it does I'll be soooooo sad....

Rishard Matthews. I think they like Mcnutt/Tyms, and his injury set him back. Hope I am wrong.
