Thanks, Cobra.
Some interesting stuff in there, and a lot of it is stuff we've seen in the papers around Miami over the past few weeks.
The best team report I've read on us recently was done by Ethan Skolnick in the Athlon NFL 2010 Season Preview write-up for the Dolphins. He alluded to a lot of the behind the scenes things that went on with the Dolphins' decisions this offseason, and last season. Just a very well-informed overview.
I did enjoy reading this yahoo overview too though!
Thanks again. -
THanks for the link, good read.

I am glad you folks enjoyed the link. I found some good info in there and thought it was worth sharing. I think what most impressed me was the news tidbit about them turning FB Rolly Lumbala into a TE.
"...the Dolphins are attempting to convert fullback Rolly Lumbala (notes) to tight end."
I never saw that one coming. I hope it works out for them / us better than the last time we tried this with FB Keith Byars back in the JJ years. Man alive, I just can't wait for the season to start. I feel like and expectant father. This team is really going to be great this year.
Happy reading,

Thanks for the link.
I think Fasano can return to being that nice red zone target, but I still think they want a TE that can stretch the seam. I don't know whether Lumbala can be that guy, but I do see it as one of the teams bigger needs.
I also think that the decision at FS will be the biggest factor in our season's success (outside of Henne's development, but that's not a decision per say). IMO Culver played well, if not spectacularly last year. I think that if he had been our FS all year we would have one two more games on that alone. He doesn't have great range and isn't a play maker, but he was a solid tackler and seemed to be rarely out of position. I think that alone would cut the number of big plays we allowed in half. Our defense would make a quantum leap if we can do that. Clemons has far more physical talent, but he clearly wasn't ready last year. Obviously, I can't say whether he's ready now. -

We had gobs of talent and added more in the draft. I think we really would have done much better last year but had too many key injuries. However the injuries to key people gave us the rare opportunity to season our 2nd and 3rd string players and evaluate them first hand, and in some cases for many weeks.
If we didn't have the bad season last year we wouldn't have been able to get a great draft spot that we had, and because we were playing scrubs, we knew exactly where we needed depth. I know it sounds odd but the bad season last year was the best thing that could have happened to this team. We will be all the better for it.
The Jets were a flash in the pan and played over their heads, the Patriots and in decay and the Bills are years away from contention. In short, I see no way this team doesn't do battle for the division title and next year I am picking a super bowl appearance.NaboCane likes this. -

In the CFL he was also a ST ace type of player finishing 2nd on the BC Lions in ST tackles with 22.
I'm hoping he is Mike Sellers Jr. -
But the Jets have a ferocious Defense and a rising star at QB, and they only got better this offseason. They are going to be tough.cobrajet likes this.
